Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro in for review
Xiaomi just made the Pad 7 Pro globally available, and we have the unit in for review alongside a helping of its official accessories.
In Europe, the tablet ships with just a USB-A to USB-C cable. Additionally, you can get the Focus Pen stylus for the tablet - to pair it, just place it on the magnetized edge of the slate and let the two work it out.
Xiaomi wants to elevate the 11-inch tablet to a full-blown personal computer and to do so has made two keyboards and a cover case.
The Pro Cover is the same smart origami-styled unit Xiaomi offered for the Pad 6S Pro. It's made of a pleasant PU leather finish and adds both a substantial level of protection and convenience.
The Pro Focus Keyboard is Xiaomi's take on the Apple Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro. It features a raised magnetic pad for the tablet and a full QWERTY keyboard with a glass trackpad underneath. It's a bit crammed compared to a full-fledged laptop, but it absolutely makes the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro viable for some web-based work.
If you can live without a trackpad, you can save some money and get the Pro Keyboard. It's not as premium-feeling as the Pro Focus one, but its QWERTY keys are still excellent to type on.
Xiaomi followed a very straightforward upgrade path with the Pad 7 Pro. Its display has grown by 0.2-inch and is brighter - 800 nits vs 550 nits - while retaining the 144Hz IPS LCD blueprint. The SoC is the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 - an improvement to the 8+ Gen 1 in the Pad 6 Pro, and it's paired with the same 8GB or 12GB of RAM. The storage is faster at UFS 4.0 (not counting the 128GB model, which is UFS 3.1).
The battery charges at the same 67W but is 250mAh bigger at 8,850mAh.
A review of the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro is coming, but we have quite the queue so please be patient!

These things are used like laptops but they slap amoled screens in them. Amazing business model making them prone to burn ins.

Absolutely. Samsungs are no better. They all want to sell tablets with 100% margins. Only complete suckers will participate in this. I've bought X7 Pro for $270. Replace it's great Amoled screen with this mid but big IPS screen, put it...

You sir underestimate the net worth of an excellent IPS LCD display. Those IPS LCD are a dime in a dozen and are worth every penny. IPS LCD is far more superior to the inferior and cheap low quality OLED screens that are flooding the market.
