I have Poco F2 pro for a year now. Nice mobile , good pics battery , last long pretty fast and for the price overall a good choice. BUT I will never buy a Xiaomi again. Middle price mobile and don't support with Android 13 2 years after? Still cost 500€ and no support. Sorry Xiaomi you lost a loyal customer (Poco was the 6th Xiaomi in the family)

But once you learn the basics, there's just no going back. Nova launcher is light years ahead from the clunky and limited Poco launcher in ALL aspects. Xiaomi ruined it and all other third party launchers by making gesture based navigation dysfunctional in all 3rd party launchers. The motive is simple: using the native Poco launcher, Xiaomi can closely monitor which apps users spend more time on and how users navigate and use their Xiaomi phones. That way, they can track their users and serve them with more appropriate ads since many of its native apps have obtrusive ads.

Anonymous, 17 Apr 2022I actually got the MIUI 13 (13.0.2.0), Android 12 update in... moreOops, I spoke too soon. It's the same bugs with night mode dysfunction, gesture navigation failure with third party launchers, failure to set many third party apps as default over your ad-infested spying native apps, etc., with almost all bugs from MIUI 12.x.x.x (Android 11) carried over to MIUI 13 (Android 12) with absolutely no improvement. And worse, new bugs are introduced like not being able to set each app anymore individually to night/dark mode, and while it's already Android 12, many Android 12 features are unavailable or dysfunctional. You don't have control over the color theme like you do with other Android phones on Android 12. MIUI 13 just chooses whatever color theme it wants based on your wallpaper with no option to manually override the bad color choices like you normally do in other phones on Android 12 (Android One, Pixel, Samsung phones, etc.) So long Xiaomi. Your MIUI 12 and 13 are an absolute horrendous mess. I'm avoiding your phones forever.

BEN90, 16 Apr 2022Updated to 12.5.5 and lost super wallpapers from the theme ... moreI actually got the MIUI 13 (13.0.2.0), Android 12 update instead, a HUGE 3.4GB major software update with March 2022 security patch. Xiaomi must have gotten tired of my complaints with the failed MIUI 12.x.x.x - Android 11 based updates. I've yet to try it. Let's hope Xiaomi solves all the bugs with this update (at least the major ones).

Mo... moreActually, you should try Nova launcher - Only when you've used ot and mastered the customizations will you realize just how poor Xiaomi's super limited Poco launcher is. Even Google's own Pixel launcher pales in comparison. Try downloading it and you'll realize just how much you are missing by sticking with Xiaomi's super limited and super inefficient Poco launcher. At least Google's Pixel and Android One phones, as well as Samsung's phones doesn't intentionally sabotage third-party launchers like Nova launcher the way Xiaomi does so it can spy on you using its own Poco launcher.

Stena, 15 Apr 2022After updating on Miui 13, I no longer have a sound when I ... moreYou can set sound levels individually for ringtone, media, notifications, system. You probably have set the volume for the notifications too low.
You can also change the notification sound and vibration in settings - sound and vibration. Also check if 'do not disturb' has been inadvertently set 'on'.
If all else fails, factory reset your phone. You need to get used to 'factory reset' because some Xiaomi MIUI update bugs can only be corrected by it. That's how bad Xiaomi's software update support is. Still no Android 12 for this pricey $577 phone and its security update is still January 2022. Totally unacceptable for a phone at this price level. Even Samsung's cheap midrange A series phones have much better software update support with much fewer bugs. This is my absolutely last Xiaomi phone after having been a long time loyal Xiaomi fan. Xiaomi deserves to be deserted by its customers. It can be appealing at first look, given the lower price for the hardware specs offered, but the MIUI software is absolutely buggy and horrendous and very few and far in between, not to mention always late by at least several months. And this specific model (and many others) also had the battery/charging defect.
You'll are very lucky if you still haven't experienced the charging problem due to a factory defect which Xiaomi never acknowledged and never did a recall.

You might blame MIUI that block you using custom launcher, but I don't think custom launcher always compatible to all Android smartphone model.
Stay with the original one you should have less problem. Or, I would say it is Android 11 problem.

MladenJ, 26 Mar 2022When i read all these comments, it occurs to me not to upgr... moreMy advice: Stay with Android 10. Update to Android 11 only when you have saved enough and are ready to buy a new phone in case the update gives you horrendous problems. That way, if the update gives you major problems, you can just buy a new phone rather than wait for Xiaomi to fix the multiple bugs (which it hasn't fixed for the longest time).
What bugs am I talking about that Xiaomi has ignored that came with the Android 11 updates (and remain uncorrected in all updates after that)?
1. Massive incompatibility with custom launchers. The Android 11 update makes the most popular launcher (Nova launcher) dysfunctional with lots of widget and navigation bugs. No such issues at all with the Android 11 implementation on other non-Xiaomi branded phones (like Samsung).
2. Massive network bugs - from the network icon displaying '5G' even if it's connected to 4G, to sporadic loss of VoLTE signal or sporadic loss of network signal which can only be fixed by removing the SIM card and rebooting frequently, or doing a factory reset.
3. Full screen gesture navigation doesn't work at all especially with the most popular third party launchers (Nova launcher), forcing you to waste so much space displaying those huge navigation icons instead.
4. Some apps repeatedly keep crashing and keep getting booted out of memory even when you set them to be 'locked' /'protected' and always running in the background. The memory handling problem causes sporadic sluggish performance and fast battery drain.
5. Widgets placed on the phone screen DO NOT UPDATE in real time and DO NOT launch when tapped. They frequently get stuck displaying old data rather than getting updated regularly in real time.
6. Clearing up of recent apps is a NIGHTMARE! You have to repeatedly clear recents several times to remove all the apps that are running in the background. The incompletely cleared recent apps is what causes the sporadic sluggishness of the phone despite having a powerful processor and plenty of RAM (I have the 8GB/256GB version).
7. Issues with Dark mode. When dark mode is activated, some app s get a weird, dark mode - light mode blend of colors causing text to be unreadable. You have to deactivate dark mode and activate it again to correct the bug.
8. The gesture bar at the bottom center can remain visible if you don't select the default launcher to hide it. In custom launchers, the option to hide it is not visible so you have to switch to native launcher first to hide it before going back to the custom launcher.
9. Disabling MIUI optimization in developer settings (needed to make some apps run properly without crashing), actually results to 'open with app' and 'share with app' functions crashing resulting to inability to open a photo processing app to edit a photo from the gallery or inability of a pdf reading app to read a pdf file.
10. More apps cannot be set as default because Xiaomi has locked them with their own ad-infested apps that serve you with obtrusive ads every time you use them.
There are lots more bugs I haven't mentioned but the above listed should be enough to demonstrate just how buggy and poorly implemented Xiaomi's software updates have been starting android 11.
