Felico, 16 Jul 2021Signal strength on top of the phone screen usually shows 4G... moreH+ is short for HSPA+, which is still 3G but with much improved speeds. However, it's not the same as the newer 4G/4G+/LTE technology which has much higher speeds which in turn, are outperformed by the latest 5G/NR technology that offers the highest achievable mobile/wireless data speeds.

Felico, 15 Jul 2021Thanks for your explanation. I want a phone that can acces... moreYes, if you assign any sim card slot of the Poco F2 Pro to run on 5G, ('prefer 5G' or '5G/4G/3G/2G auto'), the other SIM will be turned off so you can't have dual SIM operation anymore. That's one of the horrible things about the Poco F2 Pro.
Other 5G Xiaomi phones and ALL 5G Samsung phones allow you to have 5G on one SIM and still use the other SIM simultaneously. However, you can only assign one 5G SIM at a time, and it has to be your data SIM. The other SIM can only have 4G/3G/2G if the first one is already on 5G (the data SIM). Now you can switch and have that other SIM also run 5G, but then, the first sim (previously running on 5G), will now be downgraded to 4G/3G/2G.
Both SIMs, regardless of which you choose to run 5G (with the other on 4G), will still be able to send and receive calls and text.
Finding a phone that can operate on dual SIM even if one of the SIMs is running on 5G is easy, but finding one that has a pop up selfie camera in addition to the first requirement is difficult. None of the Samsung phones and Xiaomi phones can satisfy both. The only other phone brands that offer pop up selfie cameras are mostly older Oppo, Oneplus and Vivo phones and I'm not sure if they allow you to use 2 SIMs simultaneously if you want to use 5G. They could behave like the Poco F2 Pro so better ask owners of those other phones in their respective forums if they allow dual SIM operation when one SIM is on 5G.

Felico, 16 Jul 2021Signal strength on top of the phone screen usually shows 4G... moreCorrect me if i am wrong but H+ means the HSPA plus network which is 3G plus which gives around 40mbps. And i guess the fact that the networks often shows 4g, 4g+ and h+ means the 4g network is very unstable in your area..

Signal strength on top of the phone screen usually shows 4G, 4G+, Vo LTE and H+. I shall appreciate being educated on what H+ stands for. I am assuming that others simply stand for 4G. Please correct me, experts.

I want a phone that can access data on 5G on the SIM specified for data, and also be able to receive calls and text on both SIMs. From your explanation, POCO F2 Pro cannot do this. Which phone can do this, please? I prefer a phone with pop-up selfie camera, on-screen fingerprint sensor and a screen size of at least 6.7 inches, or preferably larger.

Maybe, do so if you didn't. Though I personally didn't after the update, but poco f2 pro seems to have diverse units. 12.5 from my end has no bugs. It's the smoothest thing I've ever seen from miui so far. Makes me feel like I'm running a phone with 90hz.

Felico, 06 Jul 2021I learned that Poco F2 Pro can only access 5G if only one S... moreIf you mean having both SIMs active to receive calls and text while one of the SIMs is used for 5G mobile data, then yes, many 5G phones can do that, BUT NOT this stupid Poco F2 Pro which has to shut down one SIM, rendering dual SIM impossible if you want 5G mobile data. If you want 5G on any SIM (SIM1 or SIM2), simply assign that chosen SIM to be your 'mobile data' SIM and you'll get 5G in whichever SIM (SIM1 or SIM2) you choose as your 'mobile data SIM'.
Now if you are asking for a 5G phone that has both SIMs (SIM1 and SIM2) actively connected on 5G, simultaneously, then I don't think that phone exists yet. 5G technology is still on its infancy and infrastructure for standalone 5G to allow voice calls over 5G/NR are still non-existent so it doesn't make sense to have a dual SIM phone operating both SIMs on 5G when you can't use 5G for calls and you can't use 5G from both SIMs to be BOTH your mobile data SIMs so you will get double the 5G data speed from combined SIMs.

You'll need to get used to Xiaomi's horrendously buggy updates because it will take a very long time to get corrected if ever - especially if you like to use 3rd party launchers like Nova launcher or if you do settings tweaks in developer options.

I learned that Poco F2 Pro can only access 5G if only one SIM is loaded. Is there any dual SIM phone that puts both SIMs on 5g?
