Anonymous, 26 Dec 2020Wtf this phone only support 2 5g bandIt actually supports the most common/most widely deployed 5G bands worldwide - midband 5G which is sort of the 5G base or foundation upon which 5G coverage will be implemented in most countries. Adding less common 5G bands will only add to phone costs. You can have more 5G bands in a phone at lower or the same price as the Poco F2 Pro but it will be using a midrange processor. Or --- you can always pay $1000+ for more 5G bands that aren't going to be deployed soon in a wider area like midband 5G currently is.

dkajopoy, 25 Dec 2020merry Christmas to all. I am planning to buy the f2 pro but... moreThe pop up is very reliable. Actually there's only one user here since the release of the Poco F2 Pro that reported of pop up camera failure. As for battery, no drain issues. MIUI? Well MIUI has been quirky ever since. It's improved much in MIUI 12 and possibly even more in later releases though I doubt if the aggressive memory handling quirk can be resolved by Xiaomi. MIUI still aggressively kills apps/widgets that are meant to run continuously in the background or foreground (like analog clock, weather and calendar widgets) unless you know how to protect them from MIUI's app killing spree.

Paleeto, 25 Dec 2020You know I'm actually tired of seeing this in-accurate... moreI'd like to add, Poco F2 Pro DOES NOT support video out over USB C regardless of what USB C to HDMI cable or adapter you are using be it MHL, myDP(Slimport) or any newer generic USB C to HDMI cable you see available online. Again you need to look for USB type-C 3.1 spec for highest chances of support for video out over USB C (Pixel phones are exceptions. They have USB C 3.1 but Google intentionally disabled video out so you'll buyba chromecast instead for wireless connection).

Paleeto, 25 Dec 2020You know I'm actually tired of seeing this in-accurate... moreIt's technically not 100% accurate to say so but at least it serves the purpose of informing less technical people what they need to look in MODERN/RECENT/NEWER phones to be sure the new phone they are going to buy is capable of VIDEO OUT via USB.
To keep it short and simple, one simply just has to look at the specs by GSMARENA.COM for the phone under 'COMMS - USB'. If it says 'USB Type-C 3.1, 3.2' or later, there's 99.99% chance it supports WIRED video out via MHL, MyDP or some other standard unless it's intentionally disabled like in Google's Pixel phones.
MHL is a much, much, OLDER standard and yes, some older phones with micro USB 2.0 were capable of outputting wired Full HD video via the micro USB port through MHL for as long as the HDMI port of the TV or secondary device supported it and as long as you used an older micro USB to HDMI MHL cable. It turns out, practically all USB C to HDMI cables sold online only support the newer alternate mode over USB C, which means you need USB Type-C 3.1 and above. That keeps it simple for majority of the users even if type C 3.1 or higher is not an absolute requirement for video out.

Upgraded to Android 11 (2.9GB) last night with Dec 2020 security patch. Now I have some issues such as (1) Only LTE and 5G are available in network type selection for Sim1. 2G and 3G are not available. (2) VoLTE option for sim1 cannot be turn off and (3) Display brightness is lower than Android 10.
There may be other issues which I have not encountered yet. Think first before you upgrade.

Anonymous, 09 Nov 2020No. You need USB type C 3.1+ for that. You know I'm actually tired of seeing this in-accurate response. Firstly the feature required to transmit video from the USB port of a mobile device through to a TV by HDMI is called MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) and this is done mostly through software optimization because the bandwidth required to achieve this is easily achieved by almost all USB types i.e USB 2.0, 2.1, 3.0 and so on. I know this because my galaxy S5 of about 6 years ago could do this, guaranteed yes it was USB 3.0, but even the previous generation Galaxy S4 could transmit by MHL (You can look it up here on GSMArena). Samsung actually quit the MHL on the Galaxy S6 onwards I think to push wireless transmission. So to answer the initial question, YES the Poco F2 Pro does support Type C to HDMI output all you need is a compatible MHL Adapter which you can get on Amazon which i've seen myself, can't post the link just search it yourself on there. You can download the MHL Checker app to see if your phone has MHL. I myself though am waiting on the newer Hyper Mirror cause of its zero latency, I might be waiting a while cause it's a start up company, of course Sammy has its own DEX solution and there are all the other wireless HDMI solutions out there Miracst e.t.c. Nubia was even to introduce another wireless solution with the Red Magic 5S don't know how that worked out. So Mobile HDMI output isn't actually dependent on the USB type but rather simply if you've got MHL on your device.

merry Christmas to all. I am planning to buy the f2 pro but after readings some comments here and in other forums, I was a bit hesitant. are there f2 pro users here who can share some of their personal experiences?
*pop-up cam? are they really reliable? dust-proof?
*battery draining issues?
*MIUI update issues?

Mike, 24 Dec 2020Oh, hi Mike, thank you for you time. :-) No, I was talkin... moreYes all these cheap phones are getting good, so you're good to go with either one. And although I share the sentiment, the pop up camera on this phone is less of an issue than we make it feel. In reality I don't take selfies and have very little use of the front camera, which is true for a big majority of people as well, and I appreciate the fact that it's hidden somewhere so I get to use all of the screen in all it's glory without any notches or camera cutouts. Same thing with the ads baked inside the MIUI, it's not that big of a problem as far as I can tell. And there are things you can do to disable them. Personally, both my F2 Pro and my previous X3 NFC has no ads in it whatsoever. I disabled the ads in the MIUI, I use Youtube Vanced and Brave browser and the games I play don't show any ads (traditional ads, not promoted contents or its kind).

Mike Coxlong, 24 Dec 2020Hi Mike,
Mike here as well. You're comparing Note 9... moreOh, hi Mike, thank you for you time. :-)
No, I was talking about Redmi Note 9 Pro without 5G. The one with 5G is not yet in stores in country where I am, and looking the specs of it, I can see what you mean with "it's a different story". Maybe I should wait until it comes out if its price is going to be around 350 euros ? Funny thing, i was considering hard about Poco X3 NFC, but i heard a lot of complaints about the non stop ads poping out everywhere..About the Poco f2 pro is that i am not big fan of pop up camera :/ and i would rather have IPS LCD display with 90 or 120 Hz rate then AMOLED with 60Hz for smoothness. I would not even asking about other models if i havent heard about the problems with MiUI on Redmi Note 9 Pro. Users here, and on my local websites/forums complain that it has fair share of bugs...like when you get phone near the ear during a call, mic gets turned on or the call get put on hold, problem with battery drain, etc etc..

Mike, 23 Dec 2020Hi everyone! I hope you are all well :-)
Could you please ... moreHi Mike,
Mike here as well. You're comparing Note 9 Pro with F2 Pro, which is not in the same category. If money is not an issue, you should go for F2 Pro. If it is an issue, you should go for Poco X3 NFC instead, not Note 9 Pro. You would get so much more with the X3 instead of the 9 Pro (unless you're talking about the Note 9 Pro 5G then it's a different story).
But since you're going to use any of these phone for a long while, it's best if you could spend a little extra and get the F2 Pro. Amoled 60hz when paired with Snapdragon 865 is better on the eyes than any LCD with 120hz. The blacks are deeper and colors are better. It's also a full screen display with no camera notch. The Always on Display on F2 Pro is also very useful, with many customization and is easier on the battery compared with a high refresh rate display. It's also the only phone in the world with a telephoto macro lens, so the macro lens here is actually usable unlike the rest.
Thanks

Hi everyone! I hope you are all well :-)
Could you please help me choose between this Xiaomi model and Poco F2 Pro ? I am aware that Poco has better display and chipset, but is it worth it paying for 100$ more(In my country at least) for him ? Important things for me are, CPU, camera and battery, and browsing the internet i haven't noticed that Poco has much better camera then Redmi Note 9 Pro. Is it the overall impression better and thus profitable buying Poco F2 Pro instead Redmi Note 9 Pro ?
Thanks everybody in advance for you opinions and advices, I hope you all stay safe and healthy :-) Wish you happy Christmas holidays.
P.S. Sorry for grammar mistakes, english is not my native language
