Ciunkx, 15 Jul 2020it seems China's phone manufacturer lacks of safety gr... moreNone of my smartphones and smartphones in our household since 2013 have IP68 rating and none has died because of accidental water damage.
IP68 is actually overrated in smartphones. Very few people know that the testing protocol for IP68 testing actually involves using only 100% pure distilled water in the testing, and it has to be at constant, normal temperatures, (not too warm, not too cold), no stirring, no agitation, no mixing, no jet stream/pressure involved, and with the phone slowly submerged and placed perfectly upright in the distilled water (not sideways, not upside down) for a specific depth and time frame.
That's the reason why phone manufacturers don't honor water damage and are forbidden to advertise IP68 phones as 'waterproof' and usable during shower or while swimming: these situations are very far off from the laboratory setup that tests the phone's IP68 rating!
In short, IP68 DOESN'T GUARANTEE protection and survival from accidents like spilled coffee, spilled soda/carbonated drinks, spilled juices and tea (hot/cold/acidic fluids). The same no assurance of survival from spilled basic substances (soapy water, alcohol, bleach, fabric softener, etc.).
IP68 even doesn't assure protection against neutral (pH7) substances as well. (Ex. saltwater with its highly conductive nature is extremely damaging). IP68 doesn't give assurance of protection even for faucet water (jet stream/pressurized), pool water (chlorinated, with agitation), or even from as simple as a warm water shower (higher water temp, jet stream).
Also, rubber seals shrink, crack, and become brittle/oxidized with time (in as little as 6 months) due to exposure to oxygen in the air and UV radiation from the sun, and with the seal damage accelerated by high temperatures from daily phone charging.
You may be thinking you're still IP68 protected after 6 months but NO, it's basically hit-or-miss after that. Overrated? Yes. Though people derive peace of mind from it; it's called PLACEBO effect. Manufacturers use it as advertising advantage never mind 8f it's practically worthless after 6 months unless seals get replaced regularly.

Arshael, 15 Jul 2020Which display is better? Samsung A71 or S10 lite or this po... moreI have both the Samsung A71 (HDR10 display) in addition to the Poco F2 Pro (HDR10+ display). I can say with 100% confidence the Poco F2 Pro's HDR10+ display is much better than the A71's HDR10 display: higher maximum brightness, higher dynamic range, higher saturation range (yes, you can adjust saturation and more on the Poco F2 Pro). This results to more color gradations and more details that can be seen in the shadow areas and highlight areas of the same photo viewed in the Poco vs. the A71. As for the S10 lite, I don't have that phone but given that it has a similar HDR10+ display as the Poco F2 Pro, it theoretically is capable of the same excellent color reproduction as the Poco F2 Pro. However, the Poco F2 Pro doesn't have an ugly punch hole and there's just are lots more color tweaks and adjustments you can do on the Poco F2 Pro's display and color settings than is possible with Samsung's OneUI 2.1, so, to get it to perfect color calibration/color accuracy or whatever color preference you like, I'd say go for the Poco if you want the most accurate colors or want to have exactly the display colors you like. OneUI 2.1's display color adjustments/tweaks are far too limited in comparison to that in the Poco F2 Pro where you can adjust Red-Green-Blue levels, Hue-Saturation-Value levels, contrast levels and gamma levels. Samsung's OneUI 2.1 only allows RGB and temperature adjustments, nothing more.

Finally, I got one with the 8GB 256GB version.
The impression for me is... OMG.
The full display, no notch, no punch hole display is really gorgeous and stunning, so much less destructive than the notched and punch hole display.
Love the fact that the screen is not curved, which is very practical, then also the screen also almost no bezel, the bottom chin is so thin, until not easy noticeable. Only cons is the corner of the screen is rounded. But that's is ok, doesn't affect much on the usage as the screen is so big.
The cons seems is true:
1. The phone is a very big phone and heavy, is Note/Mate level or Plus/Ultra level of size, not really suitable for everyone.
2. The default 3.5mm jack audio output really is not the loudest. When turn on the HD audio option, the audio volume is further muted. However, on normal mode, you can adjust the age audible option to make the output sound louder. But overall is not that loud. Hope Xiaomi can fix the issue with software update.
Overall, the whole phone feel really premium, gaming is immersive with the all screen display, just without the dual speaker, but the single speaker is very loud. By having the official GMS support, this is the flagship killer of the year. I got the 256GB version for around USD500, not as cheap as the China K30 Pro, but worth it with official warranty.

Which display is better? Samsung A71 or S10 lite or this poco f2 pro? In term of experience, not about technical specs. I want to buy the phone with the best display in this price range. Thank you.

it seems China's phone manufacturer lacks of safety grade for their products.. with high spec like this,it needs more protection such as IP68 to be able to compete with Sams*ngs and Appl*.

tgalala, 12 Jul 2020My Poco F2 Pro did not receive a single security update sin... moreSame with me. I'm sure it will come though.
Hopefully it will have bug fixes for DRM/Widevine L1 issues with the Netflix app.
Xiaomi has been promoting the phone as 'Widevine L1 certified' and able to stream Netflix without issues, but guess what? The Poco F2 Pro crashes with scrambled screen everytime you wirelessly mirror offline downloaded Netflix movies! Never had this issue with my Samsung devices.
BE WARNED NOT TO TRY MIRRORING OFFLINE NETFLIX DOWNLOADS TO YOUR TV USING YOUR POCO F2 PRO.
You'll have your Poco F2 Pro crashing with scrambled screen in no time IF YOU DO SO. Fortunately, it can be fixed with forced reboot (holding the power button for several seconds until the phone reboots) but YOU CAN LOSE DATA or cause internal storage data corruption if you keep on doing the forced reboots!

My Poco F2 Pro did not receive a single security update since I got it. Still stuck on April 2020 patch. Truly unacceptable firmware support for Poco's flagship device.

The worst phone i have ever used. Weak signal, everywhere i go. Crappy battery, crappy quality and after connecting it to a private DNS to track what this thing is doing, i found out very fast that it's doing a lot of talk to china servers, i would be carefull with this one. Back it goes. Never china again.
