Sin, 05 Nov 2022120W fast charging should be banned it will surely kill sma... moreThere are charging cycle standards that all companies aim for, even with 120w charging, so no, it won't kill the battery, if charging is slower company will just make battery less able to persevere it's battery health with worse cooling, to cut on costs.

Also, nobody is forcing you to use 120w charger.

Sin , 09 Sep 2022Your logic don't work Both gaming laptops and gaming... more
Hmm my logic does work. You're just thinking your logic for the current generation or few generations of chip die.

Let's look back at the first real gaming chip for desktops shall we?
    AMD Athlon
    - Huge advancements and clocked at 1Ghz beating Intel's P3 and first release of the P4 waaay back.
    > You'll noticed that ONLY desktop PC's for at least 5-7yrs after could use gaming chips.
    > You'll also notice only the HUGE ATX cases was available.

    - it wasn't until CoreDuo/Core2Duo generation of chips did smaller gaming desktop PC cases debut ... initially only with Shuttle brand.

Now we've come a very LONG way were we having gaming CPU's in laptops. How do you really think that is possible?
< wasn't with using even LARGER passive cooling fans and immensely increasing the width of gaming laptops or smaller (non-tower) gaming desktop cases.
< Wasn't due to smaller desktop PCs having vapour chambers, but this IS used in gaming laptops.
< You'll also recall Intel's miserably pathetic attempt at smartphone chips, if you're too young to recall, I really don't know, there is a fairly new article on this site on the main page just this week.

No ... Gaming laptop's thickness today and 3yrs back are the SAME thickness or thinner than most laptops of the Intel P3/P4 era. This achievement was accomplished for 2 main reasons:

    1. vapour chambers. Not simply used but better technology, some layering (used in smartphones), and better yet larger surface area.
    2. smaller SoC chip dies.
    >> this means the paths electrons have to travel within the chip is much much smaller in length within than previous generations. Note that we're getting double to 1.5x the processor speeds now in a smartphone than that AMD Athlon gaming chip that dawned the era of real high-end gaming.

Smartphones use passive external cooling - be it add-ons by third party from Razer, or tohers or by first party; heck even Sony got in on the 'game' 2mths ago. pun intended.
Internal cooling fans is a big step backwards in a gaming or any smartphone, regardless of how sweet looking the RedMagic 6/7 Pro/Pro S' look ... Asus ROG has proven there is no need for that.

We're in the age where multiple cores, smaller cpu thread lengths and chip die's allow for a much higher performance and cooler chip temperatures - and for a while now.

Soon maybe vapour chambers will not be needed as imbedded cpu's on the same chip-die or nueral engines may be used more than ever before and much mroe efficient while consuming less power = a much cooler chip and allows for much more sustained loads beyond testing when this call begins.

Just some food for extra brain grey matter thinking:
Intel M3 - based on X86-64, was the first laptop cpu that didn't require a fan. That initially debuted in an Apple MacBook. Terrible performance.
Apple's silicon based on ARM blows that out of the water, and could do without a fan yet where not there for peak or mid range gaming yet.

Trust in ARM getting much much better exponentially soon in 2023 when 3nm chips beging to being used. The battle between software and hardware will continue but soon a balance will be acheived.

Sin, 05 Nov 2022120W fast charging should be banned it will surely kill sma... moreI think these insane fast charging modes are fine to have as an option, should you really need them. I've forgotten to charge my phone in advance occasionally and ended up majorly inconvenienced by it, so being able to get it up to a decent level in ten minutes or whatever is great. I wouldn't use it daily as a matter of course however, since I doubt it's great for the battery's long-term health. The majority of the time it makes no difference if my phone takes thirty minutes or two hours to charge.

AnoM, 26 Sep 2022Unless you wish to pay more for 6000mah battery and also pr... more120W fast charging should be banned it will surely kill smartphones
from either overheating & shorting the battery life
10w charging is fine at least you still have a working phone after 2 or 3 years of use get over it
kill your smartphone just because your in a rush in one day yeah power banks help but still
          take care of your battery

battery size is way too go there are smartphones with much bigger battery's then this that are cheaper
no need be using the charger all of the time if battery in good health and of good size
having have a phone plugged into the wall or power bank just as much of a pain in the backside

This just a rip off battery size of only 4700mah so 6000mah or more should be no problem at all

even cheap budget smartphones have 5000mah the battery size is easy make bigger battery anyone can do it at low price but Xiaomi can't ?

My wishlist for Poco F5 GT (or Pro, or whatever as long as it's not Ultra):

            - Under Display Camera, the phone is targeted towards gamers and power users alike, they seldom used the front camera for selfies unless it's for video calls or conference so make the quality to at least viable for video calls. I do wish they make it like Axon 40 Ultra, or less hidden is also okay as long as we get a full-screen phone for ultimate entertainment.
            - Symmetrical Bezels, make it look like the S22 or S22+, I think Android phone has already reached the symmetry level like iPhones do with thinner bezels. The Poco F4 GT already have symmetrical bezels, but the chin is quite taller by milimeters, they can improve upon this.
            - Medium Sized Phone, I think the size is already good, don't make it smaller or bigger, just the standard that good to use with either one or two hands.
            - No Curved Screen, gamers don't really need it, and it hampers gaming by a lot of accidental touches.
            - Keep the Magnetic Pop-up Triggers, I think this feature is already so neat for the phone, not only for gaming upper hand but it could be an additional button to turn on flashlights or as a camera shutter. Just improve it a bit.
            - Simpler Back Design, I don't mind the current F4 GT design, but I'd like a simpler clean design like any other phone, the concept of a sleeper gaming phone isn't that bad.
            - Latest Chipset, better cooling, unlocked performance, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and don't limit the performance in the case of keeping it cool, we can just add an additional fan, and we don't even game that long without a charger.
            - At least 5000 mAh battery, no explanations needed.

I can keep going on, but if all of this (or at least it has an UDC as the main feature) is implemented in Poco F5 GT I will just buy it in a heartbeat.

Let's start with the most glaring negative about this handset and then explain why that's not a big deal for me.

Phone has two different cells, which allows the insane charging speeds you see. In order to keep the phone thin for daily driving and offer 120w charging, the capacity was sacrificed. Also, keep in mind that this phone has amazing quad speakers and one of the best vibration motors out there, which take space. Same goes for the pop-up triggers.

For all of the reasons and more, the battery life had to take a hit. I'm more than happy with it. Yes, you cannot game for hours, but nor should you. This is a daily driver flagship killer with the ability to play games like a pro when you have an hour or two (I got this for Genshin Impact and Hearthstone to complete my daily stuff on the go if need be).

I bought it with this in mind. I rarely get more than 30 minutes during my working day to play games and at home, I use a gaming PC/console or am very close to the charger (you plug it in, go for a snack and by the time you are back you are good to go).

MIUI, you either like it or hate it. At this point I've been using Xiaomi's OS for more than 4 years, and I don't know any better. Rarely had issues with it.

Cameras are a bit disappointing, but that's more to do with the software rather than anything else. GCam is a must here, dial up the settings for display and sound (Dolby on for integrated speakers, and off for headphones) and this right here, when on sale (399 pounds for the 12/256 extended to 15GB ram) this is the best new(ish) phone on the market, period.

                                      No wireless charging.

For how much I paid for this, I wouldn't even contemplate complaining about anything. I've mentioned the "shortcomings" just in case you care about them.

Crazy, 14 Sep 2022Does this phone has a Dolby vision? It doesn't support Dolby Vision, but support HDR 10. Audio wise it support Dolby Atmos.
So, on Netflix playback wise, it does support HDR 10 - HEVC and Dolby Atmos surround sound.
You might wonder if you can see much different between Dolby Vision and HDR 10, I would say on such small screen, not much different. Kudos to Netflix, I think many movie doesn't optimized for HDR viewing, some HDR video could be worse than viewing non-HDR version.
