Also would that mean that the budget to middle class phone just have cheaper antennae ?
Also i would think that when you need the antennae lines then that restrict you in the phone inside where you place the antennae as they cant place it in everywhere cause that antennae line can make the phone no so durable and be bendable if these be like in the middle and then be a weak point. There can be a lot of argument.

I dont really care for the material on the phone is it metal or plastic as that is not something i look for when i buy a phone. I will most likely have the phone in the case anyways. Like i have now in the case the F5 come with. Also i am waiting my wooden case that i ordered from aliexpress like few weeks ago. I would of went with nilkin but it was too expensive for a case. Something 10 euro plus shipping and the shipping was over 10 euro. I got a 4 euro case that had wooden back but i picked it cause it had the side gripp texture that i wanted so i dont much care is that back or it wooden texture or not. As most cases dont have the side gripp texture and it was only like wooden back or the nilkin case

I think he just meant, in general, if so he is partially correct, if he didn't mean it like that, then he is completely wrong. Either way, it doesn't make much sense, reception depends on way too many things, to just say that plastic is better, especially because usually high-end phones have better reception, which have metal frames.

I dont know much or anything about thermodynamics but it makes sense.
Glass sandwich and metal frame where are glass holds heat well and also amplifies it in under direct sunlight.

Also if you talk about having a case then that will drap the heat even more in your phone

If you are seriously gaming on a phone, no reason to prefer plastic. Its not like the metal will burn you, especially if you have a case.

Plastic is superior than those metal frame phones. And its not like the plastic like in a chair, its a strong plastic you see on those motorcycle helmets. Basically in terms of strength, plastic frame durable as F.
Plastic frame also handle heat way better than metal frame. While metal frame feels cool when not use, but during gaming when the temp are rising, metal frame gets hot as F unlike plastic.
Plastic frame recieves way better signal than metal frame. Thats why you see plastic "antenna" band on those iphones just to get better signal. Better signal but doesnt compare to plastic frame when we are talking about signal strength.
Weight. Lighter phone is always better than heavy. If you drop a heavy phone, chances are the glass screen will crack. Lighter phone is more durable pound for pound wise.
Price. Plastic is always cheaper and better.

The only advantage I can think of metal frame phone is the 'premium' quality feeling. However, in every criteria plastic phone is better.

I prefer heavy phones so I know for sure I have it on me, I know exactly where it is, and when I'm holding it, it has a substantial feel. However I can completely understand why some prefer the exact opposite, but when I'm holding a lightweight phone, so under 190g, it just feels like I'm holding basically nothing.

DarlingYext, 31 Oct 2023I know you said disregard the camera, but let's just s... moreI actually prefer plastic frames and it is something I take into consideration when buying a phone. If it has a metal frame, I will not buy it. I never understood what is the big deal with the metal frames. Not only is plastic softer, more pleasant to the touch, but it is also lighter, which is another important factor for me. I will never understand why some people prefer heavy phones, as if the increased weight gives them some sort of added value.

I actually use the phone camera very rarely and even then for like take a picture of some product in shop to read the tiny text of description and use the camera as magnification and i need to take a picture as my hand shake so i cant read by just magnifying the camera to see whats written. Oh yeah once a month i take pictures of hot and cold water to see the numbers that i need to report and then pay for,

JimmyTheGreatest, 31 Oct 2023It's good that you own several brands/models, because ... moreI know you said disregard the camera, but let's just start with that anyways so I can disregard it later. Periscope zoom, or any zoom lens, but mostly multiple ( 2 zoom lenses ) is what I really do miss, even so I still go back to my Infinix phones for their vibe, as at this point that's what I chase when it comes to my phones, a vibe.

                                So let's disregard the cameras.

The big thing is the aluminum frame, I know, I know people put their phones in cases, well so do I, I mostly use the included case with my phones, as most of them come with one. The X Note comes with a case that doesn't cover the sides, which I love, there is no need to cover them if they are made out of aluminum. This ties directly into the next thing I've noticed, while Infinix phones are built pretty well and so are Xiaomi and most other midrangers, but flagships are just that much nicer when it comes to build quality.

The thing is most of the stuff I miss from my flagships aren't essential, but since I can have a flagship and I mean I do have some, I do notice these tiny differences.

Anonymous, 31 Oct 2023Good news, folks. HyperOS is coming to our phones next quarter! It was expected anyways to come with the Android 14 update something in the end of November or at latest start of next year.

I know literally nothing about camera/photography. If you could please disregard the camera department for a moment, what are those "entirely complete set of features" you alluded to. I mean what did you find in the high-end flagships that you cannot find in your current midrangers (Infinix)?

The cameras in my Poco phones have a ton of settings/features. I don't even know what they mean, let alone how to using them. I just resort to the default settings instead, out of laziness actually. One of the very few photos I took in a forest while I was drunk, accidentally won a prize, I'm NOT joking. I did NOT post process the image, I don't even know how to do it. Even several professional photographers were impressed and refused to believe me when I said that I coincidentally took the photo with my Poco F3. That's the main reason why I get irritated when people constantly nag about the camera in Poco phones. If you don't know how to shoot a subject and at what angle, why put the blame on an innocent camera!!

I use less than 50% of all the features/settings in my F3/X4 GT/F5 and I'm more than happy with it. I take less than 20 pictures per month of things I need to temporarily remember, because I don't carry pen and paper anymore. Ok, I might occasionally shoot a lake, to capture a beautiful light reflection, or a tree, to capture the beautiful Autumn colors now, but that's really it. I do it for fun, and I'm not going to pay twice as much for an expensive flagship, only to take a picture of the opening hours of a restaurant.

I know several professional photographers, both friends and former coworkers. The lenses they mount on their cameras can be one meter long. They would never ever use a phone to shoot subjects when they are on a paid assignment, not even privately actually, to my surprise. They even frown at me when I ask them to check a photo that I took with my Poco phones.

If you're a hobby photographer, the camera in the Poco phones have all the bells and whistles you need. I only use the default settings, but if you like/want to modify/tweak the settings, you can take stunning pictures. However, If you want to take it to the next level, then you can install one of those freely available professional camera apps for Android.

Well, at the very least in Hungary, yes you can buy some of them, not many, but some models. There is a website called Alza that sells them, for example the Note 30 Pro, Note 30 VIP and even the Zero Ultra and last year, they were even selling the Tecno Camon 18 Premier. I bought 2 Zero Ultra from them ( each color ), the Variable Gold Note 30 Pro and the Tecno Camon 18 Premier. They don't sell Tecno phones anymore, so I assume Infinix sold better here, and I've seen a handful of people with them, but yeah not a lot.

"Even Xiaomi is relatively new in my country.."

Xiaomi is actually very popular here at this point.

On the other hand, I'm not afraid to order phones from outside of my country. I have my daily driver duo (the 2 phones I mostly switch between) from China and the other from India. One is the vivo X Note and the other is the Infinix Zero 30.

"I honestly don't understand why people think/feel those phones are so premium and why they're willing to pay twice as much to own them??"

At first I didn't understand either, but now that I'm switching between midrange phones and flagship I got it. It's the in-hand feel mostly, but also to have an entirely complete set of features you still have to get a flagship.
