People really love talking about no headphone jack and SD card slot when I already move on with solutions. I have an OTG dongle that has another USB C for charging and 3.5mm jack for $4. I'm no longer interested in SD card as a flash drive is far more useful for transfers with computers.
Even my laptop and PC no longer support an SD card slot so an SD card will be useless without buying an SD card reader.

reyz, 12 May 2024It's this kind of thinking that allows the greedy phon... moreWell I'd just put my phone on my wireless charger (huawei one, holds the phone and charges in landscape or portrait and with a case on and isnt a flat charger so can use it as a screen standing up).
If i want a controller i bluetooth an xbox controller which can actually interact with the android system, then i plug in a dongle and use my wireless overhead headphones if i want them wired. If you buy a phone that comes with actual accessories and invest in a phone with decent wireless charging/invest in a decent wireless charger then youre sorted, or just buy a cheap double ended dongle, type C has enough pins and power to drive multiple things.
Dont most drones and cameras now come basically with wireless data transfer/direct connection to cloud etc so even thats becoming less and less of a thing or have say android or some OS that can easily communicate with a device? Also are drones now used by the masses or professional grade cameras or do most people use their phones which are completely useable worst case. Also didnt android stop a lot of features a while ago with SD card useability and how it executes data?
If you buy samsung, apple, sony or pixels then dont complain about ports or no accessories so you cant use your products, its self inflicted wounds.

The type C port also can connect to a portable SSD which are cheaper and faster, the phone has enough storage to save tonnes of 4k videos, just throw the data on the ssd and leave it at home (and people have what, 30-50gb of free cloud storage that ive not seen fail after using it consistently for about 7 years (solely used it and internal storage, never had an issue).
People just buy phones that dont include the dongle (their own fault) or complain about carrying a portable ssd if needed or using bluetooth overhead phones for music (supposedly it affects sound that badly it isnt worth it, well someone thats used very expensive and high quality wired openbacks, you arent taking them out and my £200 jabra elite cans arent miles off (more the soundstage is fuller on wired with £3k worth of dac and amp connected) that ive had for 5 years now, i forget i have mine on with noise cancelling even without it connected to any device).

And what do you do when you want to charge your phone while playing games And use earphones....does your dongle allow that? Btw pass through charging is a very undervalued feature and should be added to more phones, if you're talking about progress.
And before you bring up SD card speed, they are more than fast enough to handle hi res video capture on latest drones etc and they do it very reliably.
Sorry for the rant, but it is annoying how people fall for marketing bs and allow OEMs to get away with removing features all in the name of progress.

... more8 Gen 2 still has a faster GPU, not much but still. The CPU cache is also bigger.
8sG3 has a better NPU for AI tasks.
Difference in real life is negligible though. Both are top of the line flagship chipsets. But yeah if we wanted to go technical, 8G2 is still a bit better overall.
