      also in reality, you don't really need updates unless something needs to be improved or something stops working due to lack of update.
      security? it's mostly hyped based on marketing, 99% of devices don't get hacked unless you click suspicious msg, link, email attachment, install apk from unknown source and so on.

        Camera is ok for the price but Snapdragon 8 Elite at $650 is INSANE

If i were to get a Xiaomi numbered series (14 or 15) or a Redmi Note perhaps updates will be a bit more faster and more often?

                  Phones with this newest Snapdragon reach 50 Celsius with heavy game play, be warned if you stay in hot climate.
                  Dimensity stays cooler but performance is throttled more than Snapdragon.

                              Personally I would definitely b more than satisfied if it's priced similarly to one of these POCO's but that aint gonna happen any time soon.
                              Didn't ya already find out that each phone has pros and cons that you just can't get all pros in 1?
                              This is precisely why I am not willin' to spend premium price for A phone, and POCO is a good deal for myself.

                                        Any of these POCO's wont satisfy your needs especially for camera department.
                                        You can go ahead with sam and c if ya gonna b satisfied or not.
                                        If not then this device much likely wont satisfy ya.
                                        samscam is overpriced, and this device requires debloating.
