Because reasons. iPhone as much as it's US focused with many features, it just worked absolutely flawlessly as far as payment goes. Paired Curve into Apple Wallet and it worked absolutely flawlessly for years.
And now I'm worried this is either a Xiaomi specific problem for some dumb reason or much worse, Android's problem in which case it won't matter if I buy Oppo or Samsung, it'll be this broken. I frankly don't get it how it's so damn hard to standardize this stuff to just frigging work. There are standards and specs, is it really so hard to obey them so payment would actually work?

What's with Xioami's and NFC payments?! It was broken on Xiaomi Mi5 years ago and it just DOESN'T function on Poco X4 GT either. I can't imagine it's my card at fault, because I had it paired on iPhone using Curve and it was working fine. Using Curve (wallet/pay) on X4 GT and it just doesn't work. Couldn't pay on vending machine and POS terminal in store was acting like surprised Pikachu too. It's all set correctly. I don't get it. Is this like Xiaomi thing or are all Android phones so damn picky and problematic? On iPhone it worked flawlessly every single time no matter what. Also no, this X4 GT wasn't imported from China, it was bought in Europe and it was meant for this market.

I'm quite excited to finally try and use first Dimensity 8100 phone. It's so hard to get any of higher end Dimensity models in Europe. Just bunch of 720 and 920 models and literally zero Dimensity 9000. Xiaomi 12T and X4 GT are like the very rare options with D8100.

As a stop gap before I pick either Galaxy S23 next year or Pixel 7 Pro, I've decided to treat myself with an Android phone after using iPhone for 4 years (not because I hate it, I just want to try something different again).
And I've in the end decided for Poco X4 GT. It's one of those cheap and cheerful phones that I haven't used for many many years. It's basically what "flagship killers" used to be in the past. Very powerful chipset for a budget price with rest of components that were on decent enough level that they weren't problematic. And because it was so cheap, I've also grabbed Xiaomi Band 7 Pro to go along with it. For a 465€ bundle, I think it's pretty sweet deal. And I even got the 256GB black version of X4 GT for less than 128GB version of any color. Which is weird, but I'll take it lol.
Can't wait to get back on Android bandwagon and see if anything improve in these years while I was using excellent iPhone.
