I am very disappointed with this model. I had a poco x3 pro and unfortunately the board burned out after 2 years. The fastest and best mobile phone. If only it had a better screen. X4 is slow, sluggish... Don't buy this mobile phone and don't be stupid like me.

Binhud, 10 Apr 2023its better you could not buy x3 pro bro, mine already died... moreMy phone is still alive but I can agree this phone is really laggy and buggy especially on miui 14 and android 13

The screen is very good. It shows the colors well and with high accuracy.
The only problem with the phone is its weight, which is heavy

Faulty model, there are some who got lucky and still have their devices alive, but mostly or there are actually a hefty amount of users that had issues. My impression is it was a "Too Good To Be True" smartphone though it was pretty good while it lasted

I wish I had bought a POCO X3 Pro, but I am disappointed that it is being phased out, so I bought a POCO X4 Pro. My first impression is that the design is nice with the back glass. In playing games, it's playable and has smooth performance, even with heavy games like Genshin Impact (medium graphics). In the camera, photo shooting is okay, but video recording is disappointing, and I realized it has only 2.1 MP main (AnTuTu Benchmark), despite the 108 MP main, and also lacks 4K recording and 60 FPS. And compared to the POCO X3 Pro, it's more powerful than the POCO X4 Pro because the POCO X3 Pro is a flagship killer except for its 5G network, AMOLED display, and 67 watts of fast charging. The price range is okay because of the 5G network, AMOLED display, and 67 watts of fast charging. And POCO X4 Pro is a rebranded version of Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G; they have the same specs, like a 108MP main rear camera, Snapdragon 695 5G, an AMOLED display with 120Hz, a 5000mAh battery, 67W fast charging, NFC, the same price range, etc. Overall, it's good for me except for photographers and videographers.

                        Pros:
                        • Pretty good glass design, IP53-rated.
                        • Impressive performance for the class, 5G.
                        • 3.5mm jack, IR blaster, MicroSD, NFC
                        • Better-quality stereo speakers.
                        • Solid battery life, 67W Mi Turbo Charge.
                        • Impressive AMOLED 120Hz display.

                        Cons:
                        • Newer and downgraded chipset. (I hope they use better than Snapdragon 695 5G for camera or something.)
                        • The camera's performance isn't impressive, especially the video camera. No 4K or 60 FPS video.
                        • It's not a sequel to the POCO X3 Series.

                        Issues:
                        • I bought this phone last month, and I have a problem with the AMOLED panel. It is noticeable if you are in a dark area with a very dark screen. I can see the black vertical stripe.

I am writing this review after using the device for around 40 days. I was using galaxy M33 5G before this one, so will compare these two devices.

                          pros:
This Poco X4 pro has a very good display. 120 Hz Amoled display with very good brightness and ambient light sensor. (Way better than the Samsung device)

In box charger, case and screen protector.

Dual sim 5g with all bands required for India. I use Jio 5g and it works good. 5G carrier aggregation is not there but 4G carrier aggregation works.

Good build quality, the phone looks good and feels slim and light in hand despite having big 6.67 inch display.

device does not has heating issue. ( I do not play games, but the M33 gets warm even during browsing, this POCO remains cool during browsing or video playback)

                          Cons:

MIUI is literally a trash. I cannot imagine how people can live with this annoying piece of junk software. Miui kills almost each and every app in background, which kills reliability. Even look and feel is cheap. I will soon switch to a custom rom, probably pixel experience.

Google dialer and Google messages are junk just like all other google apps. Dialer announces if we record call. Also, the messages app constantly bugs about using chat feature even after denying it multiple times.

Miui does not allow to disable unwanted bloatware like chrome, youtube app, mi pay etc. Had to use adb to get rid of all those.

This phone is even behind in android version. It was launched with M33. The M33 was launched with android 12 with promise of android 13 and 14 updates, currently running on android 13. But this POCO was launched with android 11, currently running android 12 and no information about whether it will get android 13 or not.

quieter loudness considering it has stereo speakers. (M33 has a little better sound than this one with just one speaker).

Status bar icons are buggy. Volte icon gets hidden when wifi gets connected and wifi icon is showing.

all cameras are literally useless, photos are too soft with no details, videos are not smooth. Camera UI stutters a lot. Sometimes, the phone freezes while using camera.

even 1080p 60 fps is not available. only 720p 30 fps and 1080p 30 fps.

Snapdragon 695 is an stigma as it cannot make and cannot play 4k video despite being costly. Also, battery efficiency is bad in spite of it being fabricated on TSMC's 6nm node.

Charging speed is good but slow for a 67w charger, seems more like in the 40-45w range. Takes 50 to 60 minutes for a full charge.

Too much battery drain. 5000 mah battery performs more like 2700 mah. There is idle battery drain of around 7 to 8 percent during night ( 8 hours).
I get around 2 days of backup with very light usage ( 1.5 hours of total screen on time) and around 0.6 days backup with heavy use while the M33 gives around 6 days of backup with light usage and 2 days with heavy use.

always on display is not actually always on. It turns off after 10 seconds. Also, there is no way to show battery percentage while charging. We have to light the screen up to check how much the phone has charged.

has hybrid sim slot. We can use either 2 sims or 1 sim and 1 memory card.

                          Okay points:
wifi, bluetooth, voice and video calling, gps etc work fine. No issues found.
audio quality is fine. Also has 3.5 mm jack which is convenient.

                          Update:
After around 30 days of use, I was done with MIUI. It is the worst OS in the world. I tried a few custom roms like Pixel Experience Plus, Evolution X, Project Elixir, Ricedroid, Derpfest and SpartOS. All of these are way better than MiUI. All these roms provide way better battery life and no jitters. Camera, display and sound quality is same in stock rom and custom roms. All thse roms can record calls without announcement. All these roms are on Android 13 while stock MIUI is on Android 12. Finally settled with Ricedroid. Now the device has become enjoyable. Just three problems on each and every custom rom is that display brightness is marginally dimmer, 4G plus do not work and camera app does not have pro mode.

this phone consume battery alot. its 4000mah not 5000mah
also i hv 8gb ram version but not happy with performance i not feel its 8gb.
look is really good. any fast charging is very impressive.
                            overall not worth of inr.18999/-
