For all the hate this phone seems to get on the Internet, I say confidently that it is actually a really good tool. It's biggest flaw is that it has the wrong name - it's not a successor to the X3 Pro, but should be it's own thing (though it fills all my professional needs really well, so... it is Pro after all (: ? ). The screen is excellent once you dial in colour temp, but all phones I've seen have horrible white point out-of-box. Battery life is very good, easily a whole day with heavy and 2 days with light to moderate usage. That's with 120 Hz, dark theme and on average 50% brightness setting; BT, data and Wi-Fi always on; apps like Syncthing, Feeder, pEp, FoobarCon, HiFi Cast running.
3,5 mm jack and IR blaster are very useful in my line of work (audio/video systems). I was pleasantly surprised that the pre-installed MiRemote app is able to control pretty much any device from quite uncommon stereo amps to the air conditioners in the office (though the range seems to be limited to about 4 to 5 meters). Performance feels snappy enough, but I don't play games on my phone - I have a PC for that. As for the camera, it's good enough for scanning documents and taking snapshots for later reference of things like wiring layouts, model/part numbers and burned PCB-s - that's all I ever use a phone camera for.
As a boon, it was easy to throw out all the crap apps (crapps?) it comes bundled with. And it looks good, too.

I bought the X4 Pro last week. The display doesn't produce accurate colours. And while watching videos (example on TikTok or YouTube) you'll find out that the videos look extremely compressed and have low quality. (Smudges everywhere)
I noticed it and did a side-by-side comparison with the Poco X3 NFC and now I can't unsee it.
I don't know if it's caused by the lack of HDR10 support

I had a Poco F1 that was awesome. This new phone seems to me to have average performance and a bad battery life, considering it has a 5000 mAh one.
Even if using it not a lot today (some chat, some music on the train, no more) now it's 72%. Honestly I expect this battery performance from worse mobiles (or old ones).
Am I the only one experiencing this?

kneidels, 24 May 2022In the YouTube review, GSM Arena keeps saying the main came... more108 mp camera sensors don't take 108 mp photos as default, just think of the huge file sizes those would take! 😲 A phone with 64 or 128 gb memory would be full in no time. So they always do that pixel binning, and with 108mp it's 9:1 so it means a 12 mp photo as result. Are they not inferior then? No not at all, often actually better than a full 108mp photo according to many GSM Arena tests that I have seen.
