SkyPunisher, 15 Jan 2024WTF is that POWERFUL new chipset from MediaTek??? I'm... moreI prefer Snapdragon too, but the brand new Dimensity 8300 is way too powerful to pass (especially for gaming!). You’re getting what used to be flagship performance just a few months ago (before the release of the S8G3 and the Dimensity 9300), for a fraction of the cost. And the UFS 4.0 storage and cutting edge RAM alone are worth it. I don’t think you’ll have compatibility issues and the reviews talk about the stable frame rates in games (no jittering and „hiccups“).

Don't get me wrong I understand the UFS and its speed advantages but a little bit more storage wouldn't hurt.
Also, there's one man say he needs more storage because he has 1TB of FLAC files.

You will not get UFS 4.0 support on an external cheap memory even of it's class 10 or better lmao...
That's why manufacturers stared to remove external storage, because more than often people will install apps on these external SD's and then blame the phone or the developer for faulty usage of the app/game that was installed on an external memory.
So yeah while it's still convenient having that SD slot on the SIM tray 📥 I totally understand why it started getting removed.

WTF is that POWERFUL new chipset from MediaTek???
I'm speechless 😶
But to be honest i don't know if it's worth the migration from a Snapdragon specially for gaming.
I had a K40 Gaming before trying the MediaTek processors and the Game Turbo Xiaomi internal app couldn't even detect the "GPU" to offer real time stats lol...
I think Qualcomm/Snapdragon still offers better optimization specially for gaming than MediaTek.
But it stills makes me wonder...🤔

Spanky, 14 Jan 2024I DO! I use the IR to control the air conditioner because I... moreIt is vanishingly small proportion of phone users that use the IR blaster in their smartphones. These users are usually nerds or techies. It's just like the compass that comes with the Poco F5 for instance, how many people use it or even care about it do you think. Now compare that to the lifesaving FM radio in case of emergency. Internet/telephony can easily be knocked out.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not against all these interesting features, I'm just annoyed and disappointed that manufacturers remove a crucial feature like the FM radio, that's being used by the majority of the adults in vast regions of the world. I personally do not suffer from the absence of FM radio, because I've had an affordable and unlimited data plan for more than 25 years. I've been watching web TV and listening to web radio on my smartphones for free, from hundreds of stations allover the planet. I almost never use the FM radio while residing in the EU, but once travelling abroad, I get cut off from the outside world, because mobile internet is not readily available in most countries, and when they occasionally do, it's extremely slow and expensive. In those circumstances, the FM radio become a gift from heaven if you want to listen to some classical or exotic music.

OpposedScroll75, 15 Jan 2024Dongles and/or Type-C headphones are your friend.I haven't tried them yet, but I heard that these types of wired earphones are not always compatible with all phones, and here's the nasty part, there's no way to find out prior to buying them. So you have to risk more than €20 to get an answer, it's more of a hit and miss. Unless you know someone who tried the same earphones with the same phone.

Anonymous, 13 Jan 2024Do you really need more than 512 GB?You are missing one of the strongest points of SD Memory card. They can easily be swapped between other devices, for example putting it into a photo camera or a TV.
I know this comment is like a fart in the wind lol.
Pointless.
Enjoy your 512GB of non-removable storage, but that's where SD Memory card would be better for some cases.
It's okay if you don't need it. But some people do. Some people need it for easy swapping memory between other devices. They need SD memory card for store media not apps and watch them on other devices. So they don't need a blazing fast UFS speeds like we have for internal storage. They just need ot to be removable because they want to use them with other devices.
Peace out!

OpposedScroll75, 15 Jan 2024Dongles and/or Type-C headphones are your friend. No they are not. I have tried the dongles and these are not good.
Adding more gadgets is not a solution. Just like you wont like to use type-c usb stick to replace microSD card slot. Also there are not a lot of choices to get type-c headphones and why is it always solution to buy more new gadgets or headphones ?
It just makes no sense. Never mind that i have Poco F5 with headphone jack and it was the cause i bought the phone as otherwise i would of gone with x5 Pro.

Buying a phone with a great chipset doesn't only mean you get better performance, you also get a better ISP (Image Signal Processor) to make better use of the sensors, the latest Bluetooth and WiFi standards (the Bluetooth one being highly important since a vulnerability was discovered in BT 5.3 and lower) and very fast memory (most midrangers nowadays still use UFS 2.2 storage, which is already slower than UFS 3.1, which is only half as fast as UFS 4.0).
Basically, besides just being fast now, these kinds of phones can futureproof you for years and years both in terms of speed and connectivity.
