Why this company is always making e waste. I have poco x3 pro and its the last device i will buy from this brand. They totally forgot what really differentitates them from other companies. They the word "VALUE". I think huawei will boom on the next few years again due to this anti consumer practices that UH-PPLe want to impose together with their soon to be brother "scamsung".

Each time they remove something, I would still carefully weight it and make sure the manufacture isn't trying to cheat on us.
For example, removing charging brick for some model, to me is unacceptable.

Bluewave, 10 Jan 2025Waiting for Redmi note 14 Global more interesting No way, RN 14 will be more "interesting" than Poco X7 5G
low screen res and quality
lower class cpu
no 4K
BT 5.3
Gorilla Glass 5
More MPx dont mean better photos, better sensor does
No 5G or in case its the 5G model dont change anything in specs
Has lower specs, maybe the RN Pro 14+ but price is way higher than Poco X7.

Wondercool, 10 Jan 2025The only reason why SD card and headphone jack were dropped... moreAgree, but in test main probles was SD cards are not longer speediest as UFS +3 making a rare bottleneck performance, no matter the SD Class, besides Audio port is not totally clear why, Is clear many manufacturers will remove sooner or later those two, there is no problem if you get an USB C to Audio adaptor and even OTG Reader for external SD if you really need it, but, its hard to fight next coming changes. Apple do this many years ago and is clear many will follow them.
First at Premium phones, next mid class and finally budget ones.
There's no more remedy than learn to live with that.

zoro6, 10 Jan 2025the scene is not small nowadays, you wouldnt know until you... moreI'm currently in the scene. Have worked with development of custom ROMs of my old Bmobile and Verykool phones during the past decade, and also currently active in the scene of the LG V40 and V60. I know how these communities work, and I know the people into that is very small. Installing a custom ROM and unlocking a bootloader has become a difficult task that not everyone is willing to do. People did it back in the day to get software updates when they had phones that didn't even receive security patches. Update policies have contributed for the scene to not be as big as it used to be.

Compared to redmi note 14 series this one is beast.
Also wonder why back of the phone must looks much better on a non pro model while the pro model got only 2 cameras and by my opinion worse design.

Anonymous, 10 Jan 2025what's ur opnion about
ONEPLUS ACE5
pre-installed gl... moreThat looks like a nice phone.
But I am probably not the right person to ask, my needs for a phone are relative small
I have never bought a flagship phone and likely never will as already 5 years ago a cheap phone would be fast enough with good enough camera for all my needs.
But for me the criterium is: can I modify it to my hearts content and install GrapheneOS or e.foundation ROMS on it? I want to avoid the ad-driven economy as much as I can.
If OnePlus allows bootloader unlock, I think that phone looks really super!

The Boy with Red Hat, 10 Jan 2025Welcome to 2025, those two are already for extinction. The only reason why SD card and headphone jack were dropped by manufactures is to sell you expensive (and impractal) bluetooth headsets which I always lose and higher RAM phones.
Why not both? And don't give me that crap that there is no room for it in modern phones, that really not true. It's just enshittification.
