I just feel I want a bit more...a brighter, more sharper, better HDR screen, better audio prowess (one with Dolby Atmos or equivalent), 12GB RAM the very least.
The Pixel 9 has reverted back to it's original £799. Any other suggestions?

The Pixel 9's price has reverted back to it's original selling one so i am reverting back to Xiaomi 14T again as price is down to £399 which is at its cheapest. Comparing it with a Nord 3 in many ways it is better.
If only i could get my head around the supposed focus hunting issues when taking a video.
Any other alternatives for the 14T? (nothing bigger or more expensive)

Personally, never felt the need for more, but there are quite a few people who consider 256 GB as bare minimum. If storage doesn't bother you (assuming it's 128 GB), I'd say go for it.

I'm beginning to think now that a Xiaomi or Poco may not be my next phone due to its size and camera issues and updates and notifications drop, etc. I have a Pixel 8 right now and have unused discount codes.
Is it worth upgrading to a Pixel 9 you think? (As it's currently discounted down to £649 excluding trade-in)

Nobody , 18 Feb 2025Go for OnePlus better than both of them I can't see myself buying a OnePlus anymore. Not because of their performance and so--so cameras. But their sheer size.
AN ideal phone size for me is that of a Pixel 9 or a Xiaomi 15 i think. The Galaxy S "+" device if it was less wide and lighter in weight.

It really is superior to xiaomi hyper OS 2.0. They still have to optimize more for battery on some of their devices. Although the 14t and 14 t pro has great battery life. I can't stand some of the bugs and app incompatibility with xiaomi that's some of the things I ran into using a 14 t pro. Still have it but my main device is now an S25 ultra. No issues so far. Plus that 7years OS ensures I'll be good to hold onto my phone longer and just do battery change if needed. That's another thing to with Samsung parts availability is plentiful can't say the same for xiaomi unless you're in specific countries and that's why many still go with Samsung and iPhone.

Gino76ph, 17 Feb 2025Thoughts on a Xiaomi 14T phone? or a Galaxy S24?To be honest, it's hard to beat Xiaomi in terms of hardware. But I'd rather choose S24 over 14T, mainly because of the UI. I like OneUI more than HyperOS. I really don't like the quick drop-down menu in HyperOS. And battery life seems subpar on Xiaomi phones, for some reason. I mean, X7 Pro has 6000 mAh and a fairly efficient SoC and yet, doesn't break the 13h active use mark. Was really expecting to see 14h+. Can also add updates, an area in which neither really shine - S24 has yet to receive Android 15... Dunno, my personal pick would be: Pixel 9, S24 and 14T. In that order.

Bought this phone 3 weeks ago, 12/512 version. Zero issues so far, fast, silky smooth UI, good battery life. The only thing I don't like is the case - doesn't fit quite right. I'll wait for Kapaver to release a rugged case for it (bought one for Redmi 9 - suberb quality).

14T Pro isn't bad, if you can find some for less than 500€. Else is 2x overpriced than it should be.

S24 is a different league mate. Don't even mention it as an alternative to Xiaomi and Poco.. I'm not a fanboy, but Xiaomi can only compare to Samsung's midrange phones, regardless what is written on paper
