But the more pressing issue (for me, at least) is the asymmetry when the notch is turned off. Is there a way around that?

As f... moreIt sounded like you're a bit biased on Sammy's side when you mentioned cardslots, as for the screen I really don't see it an issue, all people use a screen protector and most use a case especially when you have a glass back phone, so in most cases you want some kind of protection on whatever phone you have.
And I apologize if I sounded angry/rude, I've been seeing a lot of misinformation on here by Anonymous trolls with no account.

I am sure about the hybrid slot of F1, by mistake I mentioned about A8. It was not intended to. thanks for correcting me.
Last but not least I am not saying anyone to buy this or don't buy that. It is your money, you have the right to buy a reliable device or a garbage depending on your will. I can't stop you. Buy if you ask me for advice, I will give it based on the facts and proofs. No bias against anyone.

They are not against any company or work with any company. As for me, I am also not against Mi, but I closely followed the real authentic users, blogs, forum for info about the products of Mi. I remember about the Mi Note 4 which has massive heating issue and screen issue by e-commerce sites and adviced people here also about that. A few months back I almost bought the MiA1 which was a attractive android device for me. I did a demo but at last minute I cancelled is because it has a unique cheater port. And that is god's way to help me. Yesterday I found this article where they mentioned the SAR limit of some of the devices and guess what? MiA1 topped the list.

Do some research before spreading wrong information, the F1 does stream full HD videos in YouTube and such, it's just with Hulu and Netflix where it supports 540p max. Not to mention a lot of other phones are like this too. Also you're comparing it with A8 Star saying "no proper 3 slots"... Both Pocophone F1 and A8 Star have hybrid dual sim and takes SIM2 slot, and the Pocophone comes with 128gb and 256gb internal storage variants and more ram. The actual frame of the phone is quite good and sturdy but the screen cracks if you're not using a tempered glass panel (which everyone does, no phone is completely shatter proof) go watch some reviews on YouTube. And who even uses NFC anymore? There are tons of third-party files sharing apps on the Play Store..
I feel like a lot of you fanboy are just trying to find flaws in this phone to talk shit about it and feel good about your 5 year-old devices. This phone right here is the best value for money right now. Period.

But again these are difference in extreme performance like playing very high graphics games in high settings. Otherwise in normal situations like calling, chatting, watching videos, playing casual games like clash of clans, temple run etc will run similarly on both the CPU.

In past I have also seen such cases by other companies to market their new product.
I think so, because if you noticed every reviewer have review only this Armoured edition which have best build quality and feel. No single review have been done on the base variation, which sound like fishiy until the first flash sale. Also in the first sale it was not available and no one knows when it will be available. If it is available, I will not surprised if they sell it very limited quantity like 1000 or 5000 prices.

As for SAR value, normally it is mentioned on the cover of the device. But that doesn't mean it is how much safer for us. For every country it's safety limit is different. Anyway still 2 things are accurate. First Chinese brand devices' SAR value is very high compare to no Chinese brands and second a high SAR value is dangerous for our body. For more info on SAR value, please check these links. Also it is always a good idea to check SAR value of a device if you want to use it for at least 2 years.

Battery is too good So Please Don't worry, Lower chin consumes little more space than honor Play but it's not bad or ugly. No Heating & Lag Issues. Camera is a+.

People are rather silent on the 256GB/8GB RAM version of the phone and all I see is the 64 and 128 versions. Can anyone point an online store where I can get the 256GB version to me? Thanks

Yes in my country pakistan it is of 45k for base version it mean it is not $300 phone it is of $350 but this price of this phone is fine for this type of spec.Huawei honor play is also a choice in $42 for 6gb version.

I thought the price will start from 300 USD as the announcement, but what I found the price is starting from 350 USD and even 400 USD( and up to 450 USD in some countries) for 6GB/64GB version !!
with this price and little more I can get better mobile phone with 6GB/128GB and IP67/68 rating(for some),from LG , Huawei and even Xiaomi.

I am heavily considering buying this over the honor play, it's just that I am uncomfortable with a couple of details:
1. Relatively large radius for the bottom screen curves
2. Screen asymmetry when notch is turned off (pointed top corners, rounded bottom corners)
I don't really mind the build quality and other cons of the device. I just want to ask if there's a way to work around these problems and to those who already own the phone, how much of a bother is it? Thanks.
