Anonymous, 22 Aug 2018Zenfone 5z is a CHEAPER flagship killer than OnePlus 6.Yeah, I knew that. But the Zenfone 5Z only around $20 cheaper than the OnePlus 6, as OnePlus was called the original "flagship killer".
But the Pocophone F1 cost nearly half of both the Zenfone 5Z and the OnePlus 6!

JLWTheMan, 22 Aug 2018Can someone please explain to me why this company would wan... moreIt does cost them money to implement more LTE band into a phone, that is why their phone can be price cut. This is same as Xiaomi other phone own practice, they only focus on certain country region. This practice is not exclusive to Xiaomi, Samsung implement this to cut their phone cost as well, where Samsung phone from certain region are specific to that region only, and cannot use outside, just because different LTE band is not supported.
The same opposite can blame back to your country Telco as well, why don't they provide more LTE band support, instead of just sticking to just some LTE band.
Well, it might still supported, but the broadband might just limit to 3G or 2G only. I witness this when my friend from Taiwan bring his Samsung Note 4 to China, and just can get EDGE line, where the model on Taiwan do not support the TD-LTE band in China.

Aside from the notch and the lame name, that's some killer pricing for the specs! A truly revolutionary phone. Move aside OnePlus, there's a new flagship-killer!
3.5mm jack, IR blaster, a USB-C port, microSD slot, Excellent stereo speakers, good cameras, Astounding battery life from the 4000 mAh battery, better UI that looks more stock & clean than MIUI.
All for $260 only.

Mi5 customer, 17 Aug 2018I am quite OK with my Mi5 performancewise but need the card... moreYou simply asking too much on Xiaomi, yet don't want spend more.
As always, Camera and Video quality, you can't find at this price, unless you can accept buying flagship from 2 years ago.
Benchmark on cam and video quality is on Samsung and LG.
However, camera and video quality that we talking about simply are low light performance and compression efficiency.

Can someone please explain to me why this company would want to sell this great phone with LTE bands that are appropriate ONLY for the market in India ?
Why can't they enable North American LTE Bands? Does it cost them any more money?
LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 20(800), 38(2600), 40(2300), 41(2500)

In your specifications sheet there is no mentioning about the IR Blaster, but in the review it is specified there is (i mean ir blaster for tv control via irda, NOT the face unlocking infrared).
So does it have IR Blaster or no?
If yes, it just is missing NFC (but for that price, even increased by 100 USD/EUR for taxes is Superb) and "i'm sold" :)

Am I the only one who gets turned on by that 111 hour endurance rating? 😍😍. Like honestly having beast performance is good but coupling that with an amazing battery endurance is just fantastic!

Macbeth, 22 Aug 2018At first I honestly thought Pocophone was a completely sepa... moreIt is just like Huawei's Honor brand, which is a sub brand of Huawei.
Everything under Honor are actually Huawei, just the branding different. But at many region, it just brand as Honor, is sold separately. Particularly Honor phone are clone set
of Huawei certain model with different internal hardware.
The same can be said to Oneplus as well, which is technically also a sub brand of OPPO and Vivo (which all of their parent is BBK Electronics). OPPO, Vivo and Oneplus share the same platform, especially Oneplus phone is the same clone model of certain OPPO model, but with different SoC, and different tuning, different OS. Oneplus' Dash charge is the same as OPPO VOOC.

Another thing regarding the NFC, for whom that has used Samsung Galaxy S2, Note, S3, Note 2. Samsung demonstrate the NFC file transfer beam, which is faster than Bluetooth between Galaxy line of smartphone. It is similar to default Android Beam feature.
In fact, NFC is just doing the pairing, and the fast file transfer is done via WiFi Direct, which is supported on any of the Android smartphone. Again, this need Android system and apps integration. For normal Android beam via NFC between different brand of Android phone, default would be opening the Bluetooth for file transfer, which is much slower.
So, this is something between the Bluetooth, WiFi, NFC and Android sytem, and the file transfer and pairing actually can be done without NFC involvement.
This is another poorly materialize feature, WiFi direct, that is being overshadowed by USB type C and cloud storage.
