Macbeth, 22 Aug 2018At first I honestly thought Pocophone was a completely sepa... moreIt is just like Huawei's Honor brand, which is a sub brand of Huawei.
Everything under Honor are actually Huawei, just the branding different. But at many region, it just brand as Honor, is sold separately. Particularly Honor phone are clone set
of Huawei certain model with different internal hardware.
The same can be said to Oneplus as well, which is technically also a sub brand of OPPO and Vivo (which all of their parent is BBK Electronics). OPPO, Vivo and Oneplus share the same platform, especially Oneplus phone is the same clone model of certain OPPO model, but with different SoC, and different tuning, different OS. Oneplus' Dash charge is the same as OPPO VOOC.

Another thing regarding the NFC, for whom that has used Samsung Galaxy S2, Note, S3, Note 2. Samsung demonstrate the NFC file transfer beam, which is faster than Bluetooth between Galaxy line of smartphone. It is similar to default Android Beam feature.
In fact, NFC is just doing the pairing, and the fast file transfer is done via WiFi Direct, which is supported on any of the Android smartphone. Again, this need Android system and apps integration. For normal Android beam via NFC between different brand of Android phone, default would be opening the Bluetooth for file transfer, which is much slower.
So, this is something between the Bluetooth, WiFi, NFC and Android sytem, and the file transfer and pairing actually can be done without NFC involvement.
This is another poorly materialize feature, WiFi direct, that is being overshadowed by USB type C and cloud storage.

Xiaomi's Fan, 22 Aug 2018Is NFC important? I think people rarely use them unless u u... moreIt really depend. If using the NFC payment often, then this is a must have feature.
If no, then simply it just limited to device pairing, file sharing pairing, which can be done with Bluetooth without the need of NFC.
Then, even without NFC payment, the wave enabled credit card, debit card, ATM is the much more convenient alternative to the NFC. No need a well charge phone, no need apps, no electrical thing involve, more durable, just carried in the wallet as credit card, debit card, ATM, all in one, free of card charge, that is why NFC never fully materialize.

..., 22 Aug 2018True plastic has more endurance than glass on the back(not ... moreThis definitely a truth.
Phone change from poly carbonate (plastic) build to metal, then to shiny glass build.
Poly carbonate definitely are strong, best would be metal back, worst is the glass back, where the only usage will be showing off. Nope, can be for wireless charging, but can be done with poly carbonate back as well.
I still has these plastic smartphone, they definitely is strong enough.
Hater gonna hate this phone.

I just got to say that, upon hearing the price for this phone and seeing the list of specifications, I was reminded of my good old OnePlus One. This is like a throwback to the days of real "Flagship Killers".
I was thinking of buying Honor play but I am glad that I waited for a while.

Shaun, 22 Aug 2018There will always be people that complain. Let them stick t... moreYes, definitely agree. There is always biased comments and complains on cheaper phone, especially the one that has the same spec as the more expensive phone they buy, which are mostly pointless.
But for me, I give credit to ASUS Zenfone 5Z, even it cost a bit more, it definitely provide more, such as NFC, OIS better camera, dual stereo DTS X loud speaker, included good earphone as well.
For me, ASUS Zenfone 5Z will be the more complete package, but definitely cost more.
If those feature aren't important, say technically this Poco F1 only lack NFC, which I seldom use, close to zero usage in my country, then this Poco F1 is the one to get, and forget the others. There are good 3rd party earphone sell at $5, which still way cheaper than ASUS Zenfone 5Z. So, it is just the choice between NFC and non NFC. Camera wise, there are expensive alternative smartphone out there that is much better, so no need compare.
I know, stubborn people always aim at these smartphone weakness.
I would say different phone for different priority at different price, just pick the best suited and will be fine.

Can someone please explain to me why this company would want to sell this great phone with LTE bands that are appropriate ONLY for the market in India ?
Why can't they enable North American LTE Bands? Does it cost them any more money?
LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 20(800), 38(2600), 40(2300), 41(2500)
