Buy the 6/128GB version, you can even buy the pre-loved version as long as they're not priced very high, I'd say around 200USD max for 6/128GB version second-hand from a not-heavy-gamer user.

Hi! I'm considering this phone for 2021, will it be worth it and capable?
I'm not a gamer, will only use the phone for communication (mostly chat), taking photos, watching online and offline videos..
I like this phone for it's processor and the dual speaker, tho I would love to have AMOLED display with in screen fp, but my budget didn't allow me right now, and I really need to upgrade from my redmi note 7 (ram 3/32) which really2 slowed down soooo much lately that it has become so very annoying, and I always hated slow phones (I bought it by "accident")

Anonymous, 14 Nov 2020Could you provide an update regarding your experience with ... moreApologies for the late reply as I was little busy.
Anyway as for my experience. Here is my experience.
1. The display looks much better and crispy now. Animation has changed a little bit, specially the notification panel. I am still using the old look of it as the new one looks little weird and don't show the daily data usage which is must feature for me.
2. As for battery life, I don't see any positive or negative changes. but yes the charging time has improved from last time. I no longer play games but watch 2 hours of YouTube videos of miscellaneous subjects and another 2 hours reading in Adobe reader/Lithium/Kindle app along with normal usage and 2 4G SIM cards and it last one day easily.
3. Other changes. Test the setting me has changes, so the security app, and lots of little things which improves the look and usefulness of the device.
4. Network signal or speed has not changed much. it is as usual. In the day sometimes it gets slow as lots of students are doing online study in home and in night it is fast as they went to sleep.
As for cons, I will faced 3 issues with my device. 2 of them after the update and 1 is before the upadate.
1. The notification panel went pure black showing nothing. And nothing means nothing, just like a dead device. Happened to me 2 times. Don't know why it happened, but after rebooting the device, it is ok.
2. Sometimes crome web browser don't respond at all, doesn't matter you have other apps open or not it what SiM data you are using. The page don't respond and you may have to close the crome and then restart it. I read newspapers on crome and it happens to all the 4 sites I visit.
Last issue is the double tap to wake up the device.
It happened to me 2 times in last one year which is frustrating.
As you know the device can be lock with 2 fast tapes and then wake up again by 2 fast tapes.
I don't using the second feature much.
But few months back I tried it for few days. Then one evening as I was taking a walk in my terrace while the phone is in my pocket, the touchscreen hit my soft pocket cloth and reset. It was a frustrating thing for me, though I don't lose massive data, setting up it again in next few hours was a tedious thing.
I thought this happened because of my third party security app, so I make sure it has no option enabled which says "reset the device after 10 failed attempts". And also I disabled the double tap wake up option.
Few weeks ago I again tried this feature and unfortunately this time also the device got locked with my mi account. And I forget the password.
So, I took help from my neighbour and asked to allow me his hotspot to connect my laptop to internet so that I can reset the mi account password. It worked and I unlock my device again and again I have to set up all the apps which took me another 3/4 hours and about 4 GB data (I use dual space also).
Another thing is I don't use a flip cover, just a back cover.
So, now I learnt and decided that you must not use all the features of your device.
So, here is my experience with device. Hope it will help you or anyone else.
Regards.

Bullshit update, they have now gave major bugs to kill the phone, in my case, 3 buttons don't work while you want but automatically click themselves like ghost, bcoz of that volume updown automatically generates every fuckin second resulting in unusable scenario, rip Xiaomi, I will never buy your products no matter how cheap that is.bye for the lifetime

sly, 04 Nov 2020Why when theres poco f2 pro and poco x3? bad choice. If you are speaking about Poco F2 Pro, of course it is better choice than Pocophone F1, but it is more expensive.
Then, if you are compared to Poco X3, then I would say Pocophone F1 can be a better choice than Poco X3 in overall performance.
I tested that many games can run at high refresh rate at Pocophone F1 compared to Poco X3 NFC. Despite Poco X3 has 120hz screen, many games doesn't support 120hz, and far from being run at 60hz.

Currently I am not experiencing any battery drain use at all.
The battery last easily last one day with two 4G SIM with normal use and video.
I no longer play games in my device as my interest has vanished.
Anyway I was afraid of the MIUI 12 because of the
1. New changes which may feel weird.
2. the new control center/ notification which is ugly to me.
3. Phone may get slow.
But here is the reality.
1. No new weird major changes at all. I mean UI is the same, some small details are added here and there which you hardly notice. But the najor difference is the display is now looks more better now. Earlier it is also good, but now it looks more crispy and colorful. My father has a Galaxy A50 which has Amoled display and now my display also looks similar.
2. The new control center/notification is optional. You can either use this new design or keep the old one like me.
3. Phone is not slow at all. I have been using Android devices since 2013 and knew well that these devices get slow because of unclear cache and left overs by apps. So, if you regularly clear the cache, use only limited but essential apps, then your device will be always fast.
I remember in 2017, I was having about 100 apps on my galaxy device, out of them 20/30 were bloatware, 20 were games and 50 were apps for various purposes including duplicate apps.
But now I have about only 40 apps on main F1's first space and 20 apps on second space. Out of them only 5/6 are bloatware, no games at all including play games and only essential apps like gmail to handle both my gmail and Hotmail. Office app to replace word, excel, powerpoint. And so on.
I already quit Facebook, twitter, LinkedI

The size is about 800MB and took about half hour to download, unzip and then re-start the device.
The process was smooth.

Got the official OTA update of Miui 12 on my Poco F1 today about 2:30 am 27th October 2020.
Size is about 800 MB.
I was sleeping when I saw a nightmare, then I woke up with fear and terror. To change my emotion take a bath and check me phone, then checked the update instead of anything else. And the update was there to download.
Request everyone in India using Poco F1 to download the Miui 12 now.
I will share my experience later.
For now I am sipping my red tea and then sleep again.
See u later guys.
