On the other hand, I have checked the price of original replacement battery for Poco F1 which cost about 15$. And the other Redmi device battery will also cost like that or less.
So, after you can replace the battery without spending huge money.

JacobG18, 15 Dec 2020Hi! I'm on a dilemma, please help!
I'm consider... moreIf camera is your preference and little longer battery life then go for the Redmi note 8 pro.
But if you need performance and don't bother about camera (like me), then go for the Poco F1.
As for battery life, there are apps which can be installed and access the battery. So, run them in these devices before making a purchase.

Hi! I'm on a dilemma, please help!
I'm considering Redmi Note 8 Pro and Pocophone F1, only to survive 2021.. probably will change as soon as next year end.. both are the 6/64 version, I happen to got a very good deal, RN8Pro for $ 162 and the F1 for $ 177 (both used phone)
the redmi were bought for a few months, still rather fresh but I dont know about the Poco F1, probably much older..
which one I should get? which phone offers better experience?? thanks!

Yes I know the Poco launcher is much2 lighter, I used it in my Redmi note 7 and it was very snappy and light, plus it has the feature that I liked since having zenfone 2, it can use double tap to unlock and lock the screen 😀
The most important is the app vault is so light compared to Mi launcher..
I think I'll buy the 64 gb version, at least to hold 2021 until my ideal phone released in my country
Thanks again and best regards!

I'm considering buying a 2nd h... moreI have experienced both Poco (my own F1) and redmi series phones of my family members.
As you know both are from Xiaomi and value for money.
Both have pros and cons.
I like the Redmi because they have better build, IR blaster and comes in many versions. But the MI launcher is a pain compare to Poco launcher. And they comes with more bloatware then Poco.
As for Poco (F1), I am pretty happy. It has amazing performance, Poco launcher has no ads at all. Most of the Mi apps are removed as India and China tension. And last but not very few bloatware. No Facebook or no microsoft apps etc.
So, choice is yours. Regards.

JacobG18, 12 Dec 2020Yes! I aimed to buy the used ones for it's price, but ... moreYour wellcome.
This phone is great value for money.
As for your choice, if you have no option for a new one, then certainly go for a second hand.
But make sure it works well and the battery has no issue.
Being a great performance, this device is very popular among gamers, so battery must be checked.
Otherwise you also take a demo of other new Poco devices like M2 pro, F2 Pro or X3 NFC etc.
I have decided to go for a M2 or M3 in next summar (April is the start of new year in my community) as second device for multimedia and light gaming to lighten the load on my F1.

The only lacking in this phone is only no ultrawide camera and backside fingerprint for me...

I'm considering buying a 2nd hand poco f1 (tho Im afraid to got a bad unit) for at least last 1 year until there are better midrange than a POCO X3 (which apparently is the nest midrangeer available in my country) or till I have the budget to upgrade to a flagship or flagship killer level...
I'm kinda hoping for the MI 10T Lite or Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G to exist here, but unfortunately untill now there was no sign...

JacobG18, 04 Dec 2020Hi! I'm considering this phone for 2021, will it be wo... moreDefinately it is great device considering the Snapdragon 845+ SoC.
No matter you are a normal user or a gamer (mid to basic level); this device is still value for money, unless you want triple/quad cameras.
As for me I am very happy with it. Dual 4G SiMs and Dual space helps me better manage the device. After more then one year I don't face any issue.
Only one issue is there that with two 4G SIMs the battery needs to charge after 8/10 hours.
I use my phone for calls, YouTube, reading (Lithium/Adobe reader) G podcast and a little bit of NFS No Limit gaming.
The 4000 MiH battery with fast charging is best, of you have one 4G SiM, but two 4G SIMs you will feel little awkward, specially if you see those massive 5000/6000 MiH battery.

JacobG18, 04 Dec 2020Hi! I'm considering this phone for 2021, will it be wo... moreThis is still a viable phone but you should only buy the Pocophone F1 Global and not the Poco F1 india (lots of issues and complaints about the Indian version). Buy the 6/128GB version, you can even buy the pre-loved version as long as they're not priced very high, I'd say around 200USD max for 6/128GB version second-hand from a not-heavy-gamer user.

Hi! I'm considering this phone for 2021, will it be worth it and capable?
I'm not a gamer, will only use the phone for communication (mostly chat), taking photos, watching online and offline videos..
I like this phone for it's processor and the dual speaker, tho I would love to have AMOLED display with in screen fp, but my budget didn't allow me right now, and I really need to upgrade from my redmi note 7 (ram 3/32) which really2 slowed down soooo much lately that it has become so very annoying, and I always hated slow phones (I bought it by "accident")

Anonymous, 14 Nov 2020Could you provide an update regarding your experience with ... moreApologies for the late reply as I was little busy.
Anyway as for my experience. Here is my experience.
1. The display looks much better and crispy now. Animation has changed a little bit, specially the notification panel. I am still using the old look of it as the new one looks little weird and don't show the daily data usage which is must feature for me.
2. As for battery life, I don't see any positive or negative changes. but yes the charging time has improved from last time. I no longer play games but watch 2 hours of YouTube videos of miscellaneous subjects and another 2 hours reading in Adobe reader/Lithium/Kindle app along with normal usage and 2 4G SIM cards and it last one day easily.
3. Other changes. Test the setting me has changes, so the security app, and lots of little things which improves the look and usefulness of the device.
4. Network signal or speed has not changed much. it is as usual. In the day sometimes it gets slow as lots of students are doing online study in home and in night it is fast as they went to sleep.
As for cons, I will faced 3 issues with my device. 2 of them after the update and 1 is before the upadate.
1. The notification panel went pure black showing nothing. And nothing means nothing, just like a dead device. Happened to me 2 times. Don't know why it happened, but after rebooting the device, it is ok.
2. Sometimes crome web browser don't respond at all, doesn't matter you have other apps open or not it what SiM data you are using. The page don't respond and you may have to close the crome and then restart it. I read newspapers on crome and it happens to all the 4 sites I visit.
Last issue is the double tap to wake up the device.
It happened to me 2 times in last one year which is frustrating.
As you know the device can be lock with 2 fast tapes and then wake up again by 2 fast tapes.
I don't using the second feature much.
But few months back I tried it for few days. Then one evening as I was taking a walk in my terrace while the phone is in my pocket, the touchscreen hit my soft pocket cloth and reset. It was a frustrating thing for me, though I don't lose massive data, setting up it again in next few hours was a tedious thing.
I thought this happened because of my third party security app, so I make sure it has no option enabled which says "reset the device after 10 failed attempts". And also I disabled the double tap wake up option.
Few weeks ago I again tried this feature and unfortunately this time also the device got locked with my mi account. And I forget the password.
So, I took help from my neighbour and asked to allow me his hotspot to connect my laptop to internet so that I can reset the mi account password. It worked and I unlock my device again and again I have to set up all the apps which took me another 3/4 hours and about 4 GB data (I use dual space also).
Another thing is I don't use a flip cover, just a back cover.
So, now I learnt and decided that you must not use all the features of your device.
So, here is my experience with device. Hope it will help you or anyone else.
Regards.
