Not only it is high spec and cheap but it got all the good utilitarian features - the SD card slot and 3.5 mm jack. Also FM radio.

i dont really like the newest update on poco especially on how they change the old game booster with the new one, well it has some good points but i really liked the old one where you can easily boost or record by touching the pop up button where the new one you need to slide and sometimes it didn't even work efficiently

Planning to replace my old phone but I can decide between pocophonef1 and redmi mi 9T. pocophone is a lot cheaper and has better SD than Mi 9T but i read a lot of issues with pocophone f1 lately. Mi 9t is OLED and is android Pie on the box already.

AnoM, 06 Jul 2019This is the flagship killer smartphone of year 2018.
Being... moreHow is this -
"it lacks NFC"
and this "no wireless charging",
and this "it use LCD instead of AMOLED",
and of course this "use plastic material for body instead if metal frame and glass body"
- a drawback or something negative?
NFC has been around since 2006 and as a normal person i don't see any use case for it if you don't have apps that can take advantage of it(blame google/development community). Wireless charging is also a gimmick, i am yet to find a group of people where you're unable to find a usb to usb-c or usb to micro usb cable, plus wireless charging is either slow af or at the best case give you a nasty burn and worst case be a fire hazard.
LCD vs AMOLED - it's not a ducking +43inch screen, plus amoled has a permanent burn in issue and i personally want to have at least one fallback phone in the drawer. If you'd give me an argument of LCD vs QLED then yes, i agree, LCD is a problem, but amoled - let it die along with the omnia series.
And for my most loved part - plastic vs glass/metal. Here's a fact i've had 3 glass screened touch smartphones with plastic bodies, two of which have had a removable back(i9300 and nokia x6) and one has a plastic back with a sheet metal for that metal feel (redmi note 3). I've also had one phone featuring a unibody design (nokia 7 plus) i've dropped all my plastic phones be it on purpose or accidental about every 2 to 4 weeks and none of them have had a broken screen, not even a cracked one. But when my unibody phone decided to drop it broke it's screen on the 4 time i dropped it. Worst part is that it was in a tpu case and a i slowed the fall with my foot(ouch). So unless you're gonna be keeping your phone in a drawer or in a non gravitational field i don't think it will survive proper use. Plastic is fantastic, because it's flexible and even though it doesn't feel expensive you don't care, because the point of a phone is not to compensate for status, but to be there when you need that one good song or pas those 5 min, or take that picture of the mint age of Hitler Merc, or call an ambulance when you've fallen of your bike and broke your arm/leg.

My pocophone suddenly blanked out after under 6 months of use. I sent it off to gearbest for repair and they claim to not be able to fix it! The worst part was when they said they couldn't send the phone back they had LOST the phone in the repair center!!!
I'm reluctant to buy the same phone again, does anyone know any good similar phones in that same price bracket?

This was a geat phone when I bought it 6 months ago. It was super fast and no lag at all, everything very smooth.
However recent updates from Xiaomi downgraded the experience to a mid range phone. Now going to the home screen from an app is 2 seconds. Battery life is also badly affected at least 30% worse than before,
I hope Xiaomi fixes this mess soon because it is turning into a disappointment.
