Most of the stuff correctly, but there is a problem with push notifications. I em using gmail and most of the time i have to refresh the app or if i unlock my hpone to get the new email.
Its worst then when i was in android 10 and miui 12.
What i noticed is when i disabled the basic google apps from accounts&sync, i got immediately message that in order for apps to work install play services. So this toggle is play services. So this automated installation of play services has some difference since, if you go to manage apps>play services> there is no toggle for auto start and there is no option to choose battery saver>no restriction.
Anyway i em trying another email client now maybe the gmail app is broken and i report back again.

ps. whatsapp is also problematic

    Hi everyone! Firstly, thank you to everyone here. You guys are all so kind in helping one another. UPDATE: My phone finally got updated to MIUI 12.5.2 yesterday and the phone is perfect. I didn't have to reinstall Google Play Store and everything else. All Google apps that were previously on my phone before the update and had been playing up are now all fixed and working very smoothly! It's like a brand new phone and the new features are beautiful! I hope everyone experiences the same when they finally update to this version!

      Updated also to 12.5.2 , but i didnt reset the phone after.
      If you go to settings>accounts and sync, there is a toggle button for basic google services. Enable it , then add your google account and its done! (in case you have reset the phone , i didnt so it was already enabled).
      All things work really good, still think notifications are bit slow. I encourage everyone to update to 12.5.2. It is worth!

        A few days after update to miui 12.5, i must admit that minor issues cropped up on my phone, such as: (1) fingerprint unlock became a hit or miss thing, (2) always on display is not consistent or after command, the screen merely closes down (3) gboard is misbehaving I have to change it with swiftkey, (4) some apps are unstable, their settings change overnight i have to fix them every now and then. Notwithstading these errors, i prefer this phone as my daily driver--for browsing, media viewing, etc. I'm not a gamer so just a few apps were installed anyway. Once in a while pictures maybe posted in the social media. I hope xiaomi will focus effort to improve their global ui because it will affect the choice of prospective buyers abroad or outside china.

Since a little bit before gmail was sluggish stopped working play store did not show my account icon, also contacts the same. I installed play services 21-18-16-020408-374723149 , i was on something else before and all is normal again. But like i said i will update to 12.5.2.

After all these tweaks, I find no issues whatsoever with gapps. The phone is the same as with the initial brand new setting.

              I installed google framework 10-5771379 to see if google maps and google drive work, but hey still had issues.
              Then i installed google maps 10.57.1 , and they work normally as it should, no crashes.
              I did find a way to use google drive,since after you opne 2-3 times it ask for upgrade. So long press google drive icon go to app info and clear all data. Then it will open again normally for 1-2 times untill it ask again for upgrade and you clean data again.
              Notifications are rather slow worst then when i was on android 10, but il give it a try with disabling miui optimizations and report again.

              There are some news which hopefully will be good for us too, Xiaomi enabled gapps on the redmi k40 gaming edition which is also only chinese rom phone with dimensity cpu.

I don't remember the previous version. You may check all your apps by going to setting, then under Apps, Manage apps, then going to the 3 dots in the upper right corner. Tap All apps and all hidden apps will be listed or no more missing apps. Now check your Default apps. Your Default browser should be chrome, default email should be gmail, etc. Now your google play services version should be 21.06.13, your google play store be version 25.5.27-21. Now uninstall play services, install chrome 91.0.4472.77 and then reinstall back the google play services. Since you restored factory setting beforehand, your developer options may have been fixed. My phone is so smooth now so also with yours. I hope this helped with your tinkering.

I followed with googleplayinstaller 3.0, removed the installed G Play Services , and installed G play services apk 21-18-16-020408-374723149. Playstore i have 25.5.27-19 [0] [PR] 375135971 i dont remember if i changed that or if its the installed one from googleplayinstaller 3.0.
                    I didnt change the google service framework but i see its kind of old version 9-4832352.
                    Now things look to work(gmail, contacts sync), but not google maps and google drive. I installed both from playstore, when i open google maps it crashes . First few times i checked google drive it works, now it ask for upgrade even if its the latest.
                    You think upgrading google service framework will fix any of these? Besides whats is your version of google framework.
                    One more important question, did you turn off MIUI optimizations from developers?When i was on miui12 and android 10 i had it off, now i let it on. Maybe that can also cause problem i read .

It's misbehaving terribly bcause it's not compatible with the google version under miui 12.5.0. Sorry for that. What you can do at this pt in time is restore factory setting carefully to give a fix. You may lose all your files and importnt apps and data without proper backup. Chances are they were already currupted at this time. You may go back to the 12.0.2 android 11 to start. Install the compatible google pack by way of Google installer. There is also another ui update to 12.5.0 which is the latest version. You may search for the 12.5.0 update link in your computer. With this update, you can use now the previously suggested google apk's

My google version had exactly the same with your phone basically in many apps. Yes i also had the problem on gboard but i changed it with swiftkey. So far so good. The missing apps are true although they still function normally. If you try to reinstall them, they will not install (like my play services is not found) . It's good because if you update it will be a disaster. I also have no answer for these bugs. Nevertheless my phone is still good but with these bugs. I hope the developers will give solutions. Im not giving up yet.

I haven't gotten it yet even when I click on "Check for updates" - wonder if it makes a difference that I'm in Australia? Do they roll this out in stages before all Redmi 10x pro 5G phones are covered? Maybe I'll just have to wait for it. In terms of getting notifications, I too have this problem with Whatsapp ever since the upgrade to 12.0.2.0. I only know I have received messages when I open the app.

                              I em on 12.0.2 , i installed according to the guidelines here given. After i update to 12.0.2 i did not reset my phone, made the installations play services etc..(Google Play services 21.21.12 beta) .i also did try Google Play services 21.18.16, same issues.
                              The contacts are not working and i also dont have the icon of sync under google account. If i press on contacts(the one from redmi)to configure contact list, i dont see the google account here to choose from. If i press on google contacts, the one i installed and try to add another account >choose google> it says this account already exists! But i dont see it as option to choose it.
                              Also when i installed gboard from play store, it wont open but i me able to do choose it from the settings language etc..
                              Google maps installed from apk, playstore shows update .If i do the update and try to open google maps its opens for 1 second and then it closes.
                              Much thankful for any help

On this version don't found any problem about Google service as before and system so smooth and nice. If you don't mind, you should do the factory reset after finish the upgrade. And then just reinstall Google installer 3 or 2 again. After that don't forget to set permission for all Google app. 1. Auto start. 2. Location access 3. Account access 4. Run in background 5. Battery no restriction. And reboot to finish. And enjoy 😉

                                Please be reminded that one problem that concerned for me on this version is the notifications of line app that still exist.

                                    Hi Fred, since I last reinstalled G Play installer 3.0 and replaced the installed G Play Services with G play services apk 21-18-16-020408-374723149, everything crashed again after 24 hours. Maybe it is because I did not download Chrome since I coudn't find it. However, it is much worse now since the latest crash as I cannot even delete G play services to reinstall everything. The uninstall button no longer exist on G play services which means I can't reinstall everything again since I need to uninstall G play services first. Omg....

Now one last thing is when i go to accounts&sync>google> i have there gmail,google fit,people details,play games cloud save.
                                      I remeber having there also google contacts and calendar ,these are missing now.I will try to get the apk from known site.

                                        Hi Fred, thank you very much for your kindly help. i have tried to allow all in permission for testing. Notification app enable and set as important. But problem still occur. I am just curious that no one face this problem on similar App ex. Whatapp etc ?
