The guy who said he can boil water must be illiterate and knows crap about phones and he never even touched with his hand a high end phone.
Trust me i have seen far worse, Redmi is my 9th smartphone. Try playing game in S2,Pantech Flex, Galaxy Nexus,S4 etc maybe he will say he can go mars with it.

Its an excellent phone for the price which has no competition whatsoever till now.No phone can match it in the price and as snapdragon lot of custom roms and cyangenmod support is there.
Its true that it has a lot of bugs, too much bugs maybe which needs to be fixed and kitkat has to come as fast as possible. Hope it all happens fast.

yes, 14 Oct 2014ya u right..3g is only for cdmaWCDMA is nothing to do with CDMA. it is alias for GSM 3G.

using redmi 1s for last couple of days....battery drains out very quickly and gets heated very much after moderate use of 30 mins...xiaomi need to think about this....update to miui ver 45 was stopped thrice without any reason...using wi fi connection of 1 mbps bandwidth....guess 45 isn't that much great after reading the posts here....will keep posting! till than gudbye...

I had issues like theme chinese language and others after upgrade to v45.
So reinstalled v45 using fastboot http://en.miui.com/thread-38688-1-1.html
I did backup and restore. And everything is fine including theme language in English and i play games in high performance mode.
In my observation theme language changes if you root the phone. But does not change back even if you unroot it.

Use Method 2.
Only time I rolled back to a previous firmware was from v45 to v43. This method worked for me.
When you reset internal memory will be wiped. So backup and copy files from internal memory to PC.

As you are downgrading you need to reset phone. If upgrading no need for reset.
If still slow http://en.miui.com/download-226.html
download rom....rename to update.zip....copy to internal storage...factory reset data.....goto recovery mode....install update.zip

Not responding even after set high performance. Any one have solution to go back to version 36 pls tell. Version 45 is so bad very sluggish pH now
