Miui is heavy maybe use cyanogen-mod which gives full control of your phone and how os works.
Only bad thing i can find is sometimes game does not resume after they are minimised they restart.Ram issue of course.It should be fixed when kitkat comes or ill use cyanogenmod which is better than anything out there.

Ah yes, have been using Redmi 1S from 4 days. It was a stupid way of addressing heatin problem.
Here's my observation.
1st Phase :
Disable Core 4 after some "X" degree temp(36-38)
2nd Phase:
Reduce CPU speeds to 1Ghz, run at 3 cores
3rd phase :
Disable Core 3, maintain clock speed of 1Ghz(a dual core effectively, up to ~40 degree)
4th Phase :
If the phone's temp still goes up, reduce the clock speed to 800 Mhz, run two cores.
Man... The 4th phase is when the phone really lags. Well.. The irony is, with the phone rooted and an app to control CPU, the MIUI ROM does this by default, and any CPU control app loses its ability to control the CPU cores!!
Effectively, MIUI manages everything, even CPU control and the launcher!!
For 6K, apart from heating problem, i really cant complain. You knew what you were going to buy didn't you ?

This phone is piece of crap!!! When you use it at normal internet usage it will heat up to 43°c!!!! And then the cpu will be soo much lagger to prevent more heating possibility, no wonder xiaomi still gave warranty to this unstable device bcoz they know they sell an unstable device!!!

It was running quite fine till its usb port damaged...
I filed my complaint to flipkart a few days ago, still no response and now I'm using my old phone... it isn't charging... :(

People who wants to complain maybe should complain to qualcomm for making chipsets which gets heated up :-D

Guys, Does the sensor error,hang during call, overheating and many lag issue solved after v45 update or not?? the user who are using this redmi 1s plz tell how is its call quality,speaker,and overall performance..so i buy this or not???

It will get heated to an extend no matter what at 1.6 ghz.... this is a mid end processor. Check other phones with same processor and then say about heating.
So i think they underclocked the processor to 1 ghz in India. India is a warm country will help in heating up more.
Use the global version they still have 1.6ghz because i updated to v45 and still shows 1.6ghz in cpuz and hav antutu score as same.

This is just cheating customers, on the product they mentioned it as 1.6ghz now they reduced it to 998mhz throw update. WTF? It is just cheating customers, We can file a legal complaint on both flipkart and xiaomi, worst business strategy of xiaomi, yes china is china only, my blood boiling...

I have one and facing many problems. I'm fed up of it and applied to return. Feel like I've mistaken and suggest you not to buy this crap chinese product. This phone is only good on paper. The only good thing is this phone will keep you warmer in this winter. I'm happy with my Micromax.

Updated to 45.0 offical version from 43.0
in this 45.0 after noticing some lags and drop of performance i used cpu-z.. by this i found out that after 45.0 update cpu is set at 998mhz frequency from 1.594ghz..very disappointing by this update although heating issue is resolve by under clocking it but what's the use when we can't use this device properly
so switch back to cm11 kitkat and now everything is beautiful multitasking and even high end games..this device has wonderful gpu, cpu and all the other hardware but the miui rom is pathetic by under clocking the cpu they are fooling people that they fix the over heating issue..
