Yes, the heating issue which was with Redmi 1S has been resolved in the Redmi 2...
But I will suggest you that if you can wait, they might launch Redmi 2 16GB varient in India which has 2GB RAM so the lagging problem will also get resolved.

I have read somewhere that this phone has dual SIM (GSM + LTE). Does that mean that the LTE SIM can be used for data only? Or can I use 2 GSM SIMs, both for calling and data?

i have redmi1s
some problem in redmi 1s
1 video recording
2 multi tasking
3 heating
4 battery backup
and other wise
all is well
but redmi2(2GB ram version) seems to be good

Bring out something with Adreno 405 and 5 inch screen, with Gold, Brown and Black Colors and the reddish tint on the navigation area looks ugly and cheap.

have a 1 GB RAM version! Everything is ok & worthy but the multitasking! The multitasking is very poor! Even you can't use two browser & take photo while listening song! The song stops! I used to use a Gionee CTRL V5 rebranded as Walton Primo H3 which has similar 1 GB RAM but never faced such problem! Just can't understand the reason! Is it caused by MIUI or by the kernel? It just disappointed me! I have complained at MIUI forum but no good news yet! Shouldn't buy the 1 GB RAM version anyway! It's definitely not a good multitasker! Just astonished to see 6.6 multitasking rating here at GSMArena!

well, the phone is to be released today,12th march 2015. But on 11th itself you've commented on its negatives stating you have bought it recently.How ?. A lot ot people decide buying based on user opinions. So pl. try to give only correct ones lest it shd not mislead thousands of people.I'm an agent promote this phone..

Ya good spec but no future reliability.no service center in India .powerful spec but not powerful solid hardware.and well known heating problem.....basically china phone . better to buy window phone lumia 640.
