Dear All,
I bought REDMI 2 (White) in April 2015. I handled it properly with a limited use for calls and games. Just few days back while playing a video (recorded in the hand set) it got suddenly heating up and its screen gone with a burning smell.
The heating effect was such a strong that I got afraid of battery burst. Really, it was so scaring that kept phone away from me for one hr.
When I approached REDMI service center at Eternity Mall, the service personal was treating every body like a beggar. First they threatened me while taking handset that if they will find some internal damages (Which I can not see) it will be out of warranty and chargeable. Again, if I will not willing to get it repaired, the re assembly charges will be Rs. 340. It will take ten working days or more to repair the phone.
I am really surprise to see quality & service of a Chinese product.
Any buyer please be conscious before buying this Chinese product and availing their services.
Note.: For similar problem Samsung service take 2-3 (max.) working days to repair within warranty

I DAILY READ COMMENT ABOUT BATTERY BACKUP AND CAMERA.
I am using this phone since April.
Best things
1. Battery backup...yes battery backup...
2.Camera...better than my galaxy grand...both have 8Mp camera.
3.Sound...use samsung headset and listen...much better than galaxy grand.
4.Inbuilt privacy app...no need to download any other app.
5.Almost all type of video formats supported.
Bad things.
1.Poor Network retention. If signal becomes bit low...it switches to 2g mode immediately and hard to return to 3g or 4g mode.
2.Touch malfunction during charging.
3. Earpiece is not loud and clear during call.

thakur samrajya, 21 Aug 2015china will remain china i prefer lumia 535 i have both the phonesIt is the best phone. Better than iPhone 6, Samsung Galaxy Note and Sony xperia z3! It is not hearing at all... Good dappa China phone.

superb specification but performance is very pover heating problem battery problem is very worst better u ill choose moto g3 is best don't buy this phone because service centre's not perfect, ,,,,,,,

To hide videos and pics without password...follow these steps...open gallery...long press the pic or video...see bottom line...press option hide.
now the selected picture or video is hidden. to unhide go to settings...gallery...unhide.
but this method will not hide in file explorer.
so it is advised to lock the file explorer as mentioned in previous post.

Ask, 19 Aug 2015App lock and CM locker is not working in red me 2............. moreYou don't need any other application...Redmi2 has inbuilt app...follow these steps...SETTINGS...PRIVACY SETTINGS...LOCK INDIVIDUAL APPS...DRAW AN UNLOCK PATTERN...CHOOSE APPS TO LOCK.
You can also hide your pics...videos...in guest mode also with password protection.

Dont buy this phone it has lots of problems. I bought it from Ali Express, when i tried to use camera it sad camera error cant conect to camera.Flashed 5 diferent Miuis nothing happend. Brand new fon ! Worse ever!

The phone is pretty good. Camera is wonderful (you have to set it to High quality for both front and back camera to get the best results). Battery life was a mess until I discovered the reason why. Media server on this device has a problem with MKV files so if you have them on the device delete them or rename them to MP4 or put a .nomedia file into folders containing MKV files.
Battery life is good now

Junaid here from Mumbai from last one week i am searching best mobile under 7k and i have found 2 phone after check specification, friends review and internet reviews now i select two mobile to purchase and i order in flipkart but i wan to cancelled one product
two phone i.e. ASUS ZENFONE C ZC451CG and Xiaomi Redmi 2 but after review redmi 2 that this phone having heating problems and lots of issue but specification is good more than asus zenfone z please suggest what should i but i dont want xiaomi redmi 2 prime
