I too faced issue . Later I came to know that outdated apps consume more memory than usual. So, update all apps through play store if they show any update .Then you will have enough memory to do multi tasking.

I think people who play heavy games immediately on new phone have developed many issue. Use phone for few days lightly so hardware warm up normally. Say after use of one week you can stress hardware. It reduce more failure and heating complaints. If you have any other solution post it.

My phone is getting heated very much, with no background running apps, and also battery is getting drain very fast it doesn't last for more even without using its rapidly getting emptied.....

Display issue.... Nov 15 batch phones have dark band on the display. Mi store refused to replace this defective phone... Poor service.. Don't ever buy from the mi store

I have redmi 2 prime but it is overheating and charge is not withstanding,any application is to be installed to control the overheating

And wha... moreThe glass is a Asahi Glass Company Dragontrail... It protects well. I had a slight drop but the screen is ok, the camera glass got a crack though but its doing ok.
No idea about Lollipop. I got an update recently in India... I'm yet to install & see if its lollipop or not.

In my case, even after continuous full day usage on balanced mode (for those who don't know, there's a toggle in notification window for performance and balanced mode), I didn't notice any heating issue... And I don't use any back cover which may subdue the heating.
So, I guess the problem is with your particular piece. I have a fully functional, no-frills piece so I'd highly recommend you try for a replacement.

Its A waste , battery not lasts long.my backcamera not workingm, oh yes heat problem is also there . Do all resets, update versions...
