Ijust got mine yesterday. So far so good. I guess I'm lucky because the online store I got it from sells it with Global Rom and Play Store.
Sometimes, it responses slowly with other MIUI themes. I guess it must depend on the theme as well. Got mine at 40% battery, I spent a lot of time on WiFi and it took a while to be at 11% (around 10 hours).
Front cam is acceptable. Not great. Rear cam is better of course.
My brother says the speaker sounds cheap but it sounds acceptable to me!
I'm very happy with it. I guess the only downside is that it will be hard to get jellycases and leather cases as well. It also doesn't come with a screen protector so good luck with that.

I`ve got two UMI - Rome and Touch - their receiver locate me or 3 km away, or 200 m after I pass some point...MTK chipset is terrible for navigation. Change few phones - G700, Redmi Note 2, Umi and now this is OK for StreetPilot.
Has OTG, Infrared - it`s funny to stop somebody`s TV or turn on AC without know what`s going, also is 720p.

Can't imagine it would be missing two full generations down the line. For the record my Xiaomi phone was amazing for the price. The screen went flickery eventually but it was in my pocket on building site every day, used under floors as a torch and generally beaten up, so couldn't complain. It still functions albeit slowly and with a screen flicker. As for updates Xiaomi are totally on the ball. As a company I rate them and miui just gets everything right. Prob not the fastest version of Android but functions perfectly. I bought online from China no probs.

nothing special..if you looking for gaming,music or camera, this is not for you.only the good thing about it is cheap and good battery..

font camera indoor very poor ... sometime hang some apps no work 3 or 5 second, wifi range not good....
