The phone for sure beats any competition,if there is any,in this price range...but that comes with certain compromises on the buyers side.
I agree with most of the user reviews about the camera..IT IS DISAPPOINTING!!
Next comes the display...it is not that appealing...only after I applied tempered glass I begun to like it!!
Third one & probably the most disappointing,personally,was the VIDEO PLAYBACK QUALITY!!
I have Xolo Play T-1000 & that's somewhere around 3-4 yrs old technology but display wise it is more vivid,sharp,clear and has brilliant color reproduction as compared to this new era machine.
I played YOUTUBE 720p videos on both of my phones but surprisingly XOLO was beating Redmi 3S Prime...which was sadly disappointing!!
But then the additional features,the storage(approx 25gb accessible),audio quality (Sennheiser CX 180 STREET earphones),the UI responsiveness...& 5 inch premium feel are THE BEST..
So if you can COMPROMISE a bit on the points mentioned above,like I have,then you should grab the deal!!

I purchased from flipkart.com & i received product on 11-08-2016 then on that day i receive update of miui 7.5.8.0 MALMIDE stable
after update to MIUI 7.5.8.0 MALMIDE STABLE i see some problem on my redmi 3s prime phone/
1-the phone is restart automatically when connect to wifi or mobile data.
2-when i press on redmode icon many times ts not working.
3-when i press on torch icon it also same.
plz help me what i do i replace my phone or go to mi service centre.
plz comments on post plz help me.......

two days back i got this handset..lookwise it awesom.but according to their specification battery packup (4100mAH) but i am not getting one day battery also..remaining all are good

i got this phone yesterday
phone is nyc and good shape and size but the lcd quality is very poor yellowish
if you are buying this phone then remember this

I'm using the phone for a couple of days now.The phone is overall great, there are no issue except the camera quality.I'm really disappointed with xiaomi :(
The rare camera of redmi 3s prime (13mpxl) can't even beat the Redmi 2 prime's (8mpxl) camera.
And the other thing is the ugly big text and logo on the back.I don't know why there is the logo and text there while the photo on flipkart and mi.com doesn't have one.

This phone can give even more battery backup. My Redmi note 3 is giving 12 hours SOT (it has a 1080p panel and sd650). I would expect Redmi 3s to give atleast 14 hours :P All the best for your device brother.
