Thanks to your review but I don't have any of these issues and from what I just read I can say it's most likely you got vendor ROM that might have spyware, not updatable and is reason for these issues. 360 videos on both Youtube and Player apps are 100% smooth to me, 4k non 360 videos run without any problems. By replacing vendor ROM to Xiaomi eu or official China version it should fix all that.
User of this phone for a month now.

Bought my Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime yesterday.
First impression is good: metal frame looks solid, albeit is a bit more slippery, compared to my old phone that had a plastic frame. I'm thinking about buying a flip case.
All the menus switch fast, noticed no lag. Havent tried telephony or 4G internet yet, as I will have to go to my operator to change my old SIM card into a newer USIM that supports 4G. I currently have a standard sized SIM, while this phone supports either a nano SIM (shared slot with a memory card) or a micro SIM.
Phone came with Google Store and Google Services preinstalled. No issues here.
Only negative I noticed, is Youtube 360 videos are stuttering as hell when I am rotating the phone. It might be youtube app's fault. Will try to download and watch 360 videos on some other player.
If anyone's interested, I can write about my impressions after a week, when I will have been tried telephony, 4G, GPS and battery.

error, 20 Dec 2016why not usb-c? is that so expensive for manufactures to imp... moreit's still quite new technology to phones and xiaomi is budget phone so it's not in that interval to get. next year when all things start getting usb c then it will become a mainstream and next redmis should have it. most things still have only usb2
