2019 ? Still damn hot with Android 9.0 Pie custom ROM,like Pixel Experience...Camera is awesome,focus in portrait works perfectly,regular shots are also great.Video is awesome,also digital post-stabilisation is very nice thing.

Bigger ROM,Stronger Processor & Graphics Unit, Bigger Screen, Higher Camera, Bigger Battery. If I were you I'd choose the Redmi S2..very small price difference with the Redmi 5 but has a slightly better processor, newer OS,highly better front camera.
