Luckily I've got this phone last week in brand new condition at the RP Tech Qatar. But there's no major OS update version available when tried to update the phone's OS. It's running on android 7 (nought) although as per gsmarena it's upgradable upto android 10. Is there anyone who received official updated os version for the redmi 5 plus global version?

I had this for 5 years until the battery gave up. I installed so many custom roms on it... Great phone for its time.

Been using this phone for 6 years, it was good while it lasted and i just swapped to a new phone last week went from android to iphone. The change is pretty insane but i’d say redmi 5 plus has its faulty and flaws (charging takes a while but its battery drains so fast) but it’s a decent phone I’ve been with for 6 long years.

Nice phone anyways. But battery drain faster plus you don't receive notification sound when getting a mesage.

Nice phone anyways, first time using it 2024, the only faults I encounter is battery drain faster plus I don't get notification sounds when I receive messages.

Using this phone for almost 6 years.Its a great phone made by Xiaomi.Sound quality over Headphone is simply amazing,Display of the phone is still awesome.One of the best phone I purchased.It reminds me the good old days of Nokia phones.

Although all the problems you mentioned are valid, none of them makes sense for a 2018 mid range device now. For 2018 standards, this was amazing. After using with a PE A12 rom, this is smooth as ever. Should I be complaining about the lack of 5G, or dual camera or what not on this device? Absolutely not.

Not my daily device. But recently gave it a fresh pixel experience rom and working amazingly. Even shocked at the GCam outputs. Slap it an amoled screen and nobody would've noticed it was a 2018 phone.

still using it thinking to upgrade while it lasted long enough replaced it's battery because i lost it's original charger and sort of went like that but yea it did help lot !

used this for 1 year then the touchscreen went haywire, registering ghost taps, became unusable. was good while it lasted and looks good too.
