was considering buying one of threes phones
as find them at low price
the redmi 6a matches what i was looking for
budget phone with bezels
was looking for them at lowest possible prices so starting looking everywhere
but instead of finding very dirt cheap price
i find story of Redmi 6a Woman Dies After Redmi 6A Smartphone Exploded
and story that redmi 9a also battery Explodes
i won't go anywhere near them now
not even with 10 foot pole

It worked fine out of the box, but following a time-honored tradition initiated by Apple, software updates made it slower and slower to the point it was frustrating to use it as a daily driver.
As there is virtually no custom ROMs for this device, you have to settle for non-optimized LineageOS builds. I have it on Android 10 and while it's usable (certainly more than before), it's fairly stuttery at times.
I wouldn't recommend it at all, unless you needed a back up phone just as a portable music player, for WhatsApp, ocassional Facebook... and little else.

Worst phone ever.This phone is so garbage.Memory,camera,screen are problems.Always when i dropped the phone the screen gets broken so easely. Any phone from 1990s are better then this.

I've had this phone for 2 years and It's not so good, It's slow and the storage is full very fast even If I delete everything they still say that storage ist full, you can't play games I means you can but It'll be very slow and will bug all the time, anyways that's why so decided to swich up to iPhone 11 128gb

Smol Miminals, 11 Aug 2022This is a very weak phone, 16GB storage, 2GB RAM... After 3... morei bought cheap phone after i lost one expensive phone many years ago.
This redmi 6a is my first cheap phone. I like it. However the 16GB storage is too small. I can't install much apps and always need to delete my photos very now and then. After 2 years using, it become very slow even i have clean the storage.
Now plan to buy a new one. Still searching a phone that is "value for money" !

This "planned upgrade to 10" is false news.
It has been in Android version 9 for years.

Great phone for budget users, it has most features of latest smartphone but doesn't have NFC, and fingerprint sensor. Also, the last android version of this is only Android Pie (9.0) and MIUI 11. Bought this for less than 55 USD. If you want to play on a phone - Don't buy this.

This phone cannot install custom rom because mediatek chip, if you update to miui 11, it will be very lag..this phone only compatible with miui 10..when i unlock boatloader and flash with miui 10..this phone more responsive and less lag.. just stay with MIUI 10...don't bother to update MIU 11..

This is a very weak phone, 16GB storage, 2GB RAM... After 3 years it's very slow, needs to be charged almost every day and that considering I don't play games on it (obviously, cuz it sucks). It lags too much, even the keyboard lags and I can't use it to send messages. I have only two apps installed on it - Whatsapp and Viber and the storage is 99% full - it won't let me install anything else. I don't have an SD card but at this point it's better to just buy a new phone... Thankfully, it's my work phone, not my personal one. I'd neved buy anything lower than the latest $2000 flagship for personal use....

Can u imagine I still use Redmi 6a so far despite all the brand new phones in the market?!
Comparing to other phones with same specs, redmi 6a is the best. It still works so well.
Am very proud of holding Xiaomi and if I think to change mine, I will only buy Xiaomi too cuz it is the best ❤️
