Was looking forward to the successor of Xiaomi Redmi 6. Hoping for the same dimensions or even more compact but with FHD display and a proper midrange chipset to go with it. But this one retains the screen resolution while becoming a phablet. Remember Redmi 4 Prime? During its time, it was relatively compact with huge battery capacity and a chipset that wasn't found in any other phone in its price segment. My last hope to have kind of a Redmi 4 Prime this year is the succesor to the Mi A2 lite. But I can already tell that even that will also turn into another phablet.

It's cheaper for xiaomi if their phones have same parts and basically their big competition right now (Asus and vivo) all sporting 6 something size. it's the segment that is most popular and public perception that you got more for your money if your phone size is bigger.
