Been using this phone for about 1 month now, and its pretty great phone, the battery life is just more than i can use... It can stand for about 1 day from evening till midnight with my usage lot of gaming, watching video, etc...
Camera is average but i didn't thingking about the camera, i only use this phone for daily entertainment like what i said above, but i think the chipset sdm 439 can't be used for heavy games, like pubg....
That's my opinion about this phone, if you want average performance for gaming phone, long lasting battery life, average camera, this phone is recommended for you XD

AriesPradana13, 30 Jul 2020Just bought a month ago, Redmi 8 is ok for daily activities... moreI play COD on the redmi 8 lowest settings and high frame rates and it runs pretty good above 30fps most times, mobile legends runs without any issue at all, as long as you stick to smooth graphics, although the battery efficiency is superb, charging is pretty fast and battery life on heavy usage such as gaming takes me through the day no problem, if you have more cash tho I'll advice you get the note 8 or redmi 9

i bought this phone in the month of jan 20 through amazon.
it got dead in my hands on 31st jul 20, i neither dropped it in water nor in any hard surface. it got dead by itself. as it was under warranty i rushed to mi servicing center, they told me that it has some hardware issue and the required parts is not available with them, and even they don't know when it will be available.
my phone is lying in servicing center.
waht a brand and what a service..

For me redmi 8 is a good phone for daily use, battery capacity, lite gaming like C.O.D, ML. with minimal frame drops. camera is ok for me. im using redmi 8 playing COD with VPN No heat issues.

Such kind of a phone is praised in Kenya for its specs at that price which very good for basic use and lite gaming

Just bought a month ago, Redmi 8 is ok for daily activities, especially since I rarely play games.
Only light games I have.
- Motorsport Manager 3, Bloons TD6, & Plants vs Zombies 2
even though it was a little hot, but I played the game for only 1 hour
game like Free Fire, Mobile Legend, COD, PUBG are not recommended.
Redmi 8 is indeed suitable for browsing, watching YouTube, movies & multitasking.
And most importantly, even though the processor uses SD 439 and a bad camera sector (can be better by installing Gcam or Hypercam).
The most vital for all sectors is the battery:
Redmi 8 battery is AMAZING because SD 439 are power saving chipset (not gaming chipset).
Additionally, at this time I have never updated my MIUI and other Google Application Support systems to save memory space.
