Me, 14 Feb 2021I'm also on MiUi 12. 4g and 3g on my phone is the same... moreWith a 5020 mAh battery pack and your battery is draining???Come to your senses pal...it depents of adjustments and the update you should install, for some a even a cars battery isn't enough!!!How pityful!!!

          After a lot of research, I found these Gcam. They don't (shouldn't) lag like Gcam 7+ versions.
          Note: Gcam 6.1 & 6.2 don't lag.

          There were 2 other links, but Gsmarena will probably delete my comment so I can't share those Gcam. Sorry.
          Just test all Gcam 6.1 & 6.2 on Celsoazevedo, especially trCamera, HyperCam, PixelCam, and also search Gcambrasil.

          Note: If it crashes on switching camera/modes, go to settings & adjust according to the device. For example:
          - Lower Photo Resolution
          - Lower Video Resolution
          - Disable some settings
          Also:
          - Change saturation if you don't like colours.
          - Increase Video Bitrate to get more detail (i recommend 15MB or 20MB)
          - Enable/Disable Google Photos if you face problem in saving photos/videos.
          - Download Gcam Tool Pro to save selfies without mirror effect.
          - Turn on "Buffer Fix" from Gcam settings.

          Settings (if Gcam supports config):
          Steps:
          1. Download any Gcam (.apk) along with its specific config file (.xml) from the links.

          2. Install the .apk file by clicking on it.
          From Downloads of your browser. Or from File Manager - Phone Storage - Download folder.

          3. Open Google Camera.
          Go to: Menu - Settings - Configs - Save - Save.

          4. Open File Manager.
          Phone Storage - Download - (Copy .xml file).
          Paste it in: Phone Storage - GCam - Configs7

          (Note: Gcam folder may not be same for all Gcams, like for trCamera its folder will be named "trCamera". You just need to paste .xml file in the "Config" folder inside it.)

          5. Open Google Camera.
          6. Double tap on empty black space at the bottom (Around selfie/capture/photos buttons).
          7. Choose config - .xml file.
          8. Restore.

            For those gamers who mistakenly bought 3GB variant & are struggling with lag.
            Here's what you can do:

            1. Restart phone everyday.
            2. Add PUBG in Game mode.
            3. Put phone in High Performance Mode in Settings before playing (also useful if you're a normal user).
            4. Force close all running apps from Settings or Developer's Options before playing.
            5. Flash a lightweight Custom ROM, which is specifically designed for Redmi 9 to replace MIUI. It'll use RAM, so you'll get a performance boost.
            6. Use GFX Tool. Best ones are "PGT+ Pro" & "Gamers GLTool Pro".
            Hint: You can get it for free from YouTube/Google, but it's best to support Developer by purchasing the app.

            For settings:
            - Lower Resolution = Better Performance. Default is 1280x720.
            - Higher FPS = Better Performance. But it might be better to make it 40 or 60, so it doesn't fluctuate too much.
            - Disable everything that can be disabled.
            - Lower everything that can't disabled.

            (Make sure to save your Controls on Layout 2 just to be safe)

                            Redmi 9 is the best phone I've ever had.The charge that was in the phone when I first unboxed it was 60, and now,this is the second day I'm using it with 40 percent charge.Best phone until now.

                                      Anonymous, 01 Feb 2021Ahh one more thing, use config you can find them in youtube1: Go to About Phone > touch MIUI version about 10 times > go back and go to advanced settings > developer options > scroll to the bottom and turn MIUI optimization to off > remove all junk from the device > in Genshin, medium graphics will give you around 25 - 40 frames. it's a playable experience. for more better frames, lowest is recommended.
