If you're reading this and trying to decide what to buy, cross the Redmi 9a off your list. You're lucky if you didn't buy it. Why?
Because Redmi 9A is weaker not only than 8A but even than 7A:
Almost all Passmark Benchmark results are lower than Redmi 7A 16/2.
On official 12.5 (Android 11) it lags terribly bad, even with zero extra apps installed and after removing/disabling all bloatware, disabling animations, with "performance mode" enabled etc.

This is the worst phone of century. literally. i still have this phone and i'll never use xiaomi phones because of this. This phone only gave me problems instead of comfort. can't transfer file for a bit of time with my pc . crashes. can't insert microsd card because xiaomi can't make the phone for normal formats. also transfer speed is so low for an emmc storage(samsung phones transfer faster even if it's emmc) this is my first phone from xiaomi.(i know it's a budget one). but this made me wanna change to samsung. atleast there most budget phone doesn't irritate me.

Probably one of the best (Bad) phone for it's time. Still using it now, kinda sad that mine is 32-Bit though. Can't play Pokemon Go on it too, that sucks. Other than that i can vouch for it's disposable value.

This Device Is Good For Daily Use Even It's 5 Years Old, I Have The 4GB/64GB Virant, The Camera Is Decent, You Can Take Very Decent Photo With Good Lighting, For Gaming, It's Kinda Laggy But Still Playable, Make Sure Your Graphics Settings Is The Lowest Possible, My Rate To This Device As Daily Use Is 7.5/10, And For Gaming My Rate Us 5.2/10

I have the 3/32GB version of the Redmi 9A and it has actually been good for about a year of daily use, before I upgraded and passed it to my father, who has no complaints and even liked how good the battery endurance is
I think if I cheaped out and went for the 2/32GB version however, it would be a different story since I don't think 2GB of RAM is holding up in 2025 lol

Do NOT give this phone to children or anyone that may need it in an emergency, it is dangerously slow to load even the simplest of apps or even the keyboard to type a message.
My partner was recently in a car accident and when the other driver tried to leave without swapping details, she tried to take a picture of the number plate but he was long away before the camera loaded.
This is despite uninstalling everything that could be because it repeatedly crashed and rebooted if you try toggle between different apps.
Even this had to be retyped because I opened a new tab to check a spelling and all the text was lost.
My Spectrum ZX84 48k computer from the early 1980s was more reliable than this piece of again dangerous junk!

Imagine you are a school kid and bring your Redmi 9a and when your friends say let's take a picture of us together. You open camera app and it takes ages to load the app. Imagine the embarrassment you face among your friends.

If you can get it for 50 euro it's good but for more it's not worth it. slow 12nm soc with heating issue, low ram, low storage, blurry camera, bad touch sensitivty. If you install custom rom or debloat miui and root it and enable swap it's usable for calling texting and social media. Gaming is not good pubg 40 fps lowest setting

I am so happy I managed to sell this phone and I got a samsung galaxy a04 it's a cheap Samsung but it's much better than thus rubbish op a phone, this phone was so slow that you can eve miss important calls because it lags when you're using it so you can't even answer the call in Time, Honestly I didn't expect it to suck this bad

Been using my Redmi 9A (32gb / 1) phone for 1 and half year for school purposes. Trust me, it will test your patience. I can't even open another tab because it lags everytime. The only good thing about this phone is it has a large battery capacity and has a large display. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this crap phone

Brotha...if u r looking for testing ur patience...this phone is for u guys...been using this 2020 and it was good in its prime...but in 2025 and coming years...this ain't gonna make it...don't buy...choose any other phone
