Coolpad 12A's Unisoc Tiger T310 might be the first chipset that uses a fast Cortex-A75 core, on a phone priced under $100. Virtually all phones in this price range have chipsets with much slower Cortex-A53 cores.

Tiger T310 is a 12nm quad core chip with an unconventional 1+3 BIG.little design:

                  1 Cortex-A75 performance core @2GHz
                  3 Cortex-A55 efficiency cores @1.8GHz
GPU is PowerVR GE8300 (rather weak)

It gets monster Single Core score in Geekbench 5 due to the Cortex-A75 core, about 10% higher than Snapdragon 670 and only 5% lower than SD835/710.

It gets about 145k in antutu, compared to 89k for Redmi 9a, so 63% higher. GPU score is pretty low though.

Xiaomi should seriously consider using this chip. While it's not good for gaming, it's much faster in everyday tasks than Helio G25 & SD439 they've used in Redmi 9a & 8a.

Astute, 25 Nov 2020The phone is cool but the camera quality is poor especially... moreyou don't get all things for a budget phone. the camera is good on macro. also has better censor than RN3 which has 16mp camera though.

For the same price of $91 (599 RMB) in China

Redmi 9a: Helio G25, 2/32GB, 5020mAh, micro USB, plastic back, face unlock

Coolpad Cool 12A: Unisoc Tiger T310, 4/64GB, 4000mAh, Type C, glass back, side fingerprint scanner & face unlock

So Redmi 9a gets crushed in hardware specs. Cool 12A has double the RAM and storage which is huge in a budget phone, and it's faster. Yes MIUI is way better software, but this shows the upcoming Redmi 10a has lots of room for hardware improvement!

Anonymous, 19 Dec 2020ALL XIAOMI PHONES & EVEN OTHER BRANDS ALMOST EVERY 1... moreokay this is NOT what you should do to preserve your battery life longer, what id recommend is try to not drain the battery completely and get it plugged in immediately should it reach 20% or below, also don't always fully charge your phone, yes i get it by doing so will grant extra battery juice but it really isnt healthy for the battery. 80% - 90% should be the sweet spot.

Xiaomi did a masterful job with the base Redmi 9, but it appears they haven't gotten around to improve the Redmi 9a yet. This phone is decent value but nothing special.
