Some early opinions after updating my Redmi 9T from 12.0.17 A10 to 12.5.6 A11...
Fingerprint sensor is quite laggy. Many times it failed to respond to touch even after reset my fingerprints. Before this, even the slightest touch unlock the phone.
Dark mode is still buggy. Individual apps under "More dark mode options" in Display settings are still missing.
Now with Android 11, using full screen gesture for 3rd party launcher are no longer allowed. Was using Nova7 before and now it won't let me activate the full screen gesture. This made me angry.
Not sure what extended RAM is for... I got 2GB extra turned on by default, but is taken from storage. So now my phone has 8GB RAM and 2GB less storage? I'm not a heavy user anyway. I'm not the kind of person that stares at my phone until I forgot the world exist. I don't even game. I'd rather have storage, so I turn it off.
Battery? Probably the same. I still got 2-3 days maximum. No problems with coverage signal or wifi.
And lastly, still no deadboot 😂. I'm one of the lucky plebs here who hasn't experience this deadboot issues in a year.
That's all. I'll try to share more with you later when I found anything odd and weird.

Miui 12.5.6 sucks. I cannot use gestures with third party launchers and so i'm stuck with stock launcher. Also you cannot copy or move things to and from the Android folder in the file manager.I am using es file manager to solve this problem.However the power management is awesome.
I should have stuck with ANDROID 10🤦

Regarding the apps, they may no longer be compatible with the upgraded OS, so you'll have to download the latest versions of those apps. Not all apps are compatible with Android 11.

I updated to miui 12.5.6 no issues in reboot. But the split screen features is not available in redmi 9t android 11. Only floating features. And some third party app no longer compatible.

Official LineageOS support would make this phone a king of price/performance.
MIUI is really confusing and evil. I hate it. A proper, privacy and performance oriented configuration takes more than a day. Even disabling apps is hidden or blocked.

Has anyone with deadboot updated to 12.5? Is there any improvement? Just got a notification to update to 12.5.6 now thinking I should go ahead but have already experience deadboot 3times, any advice?

I got The Miui 12.5.3 update and updated again to 12.5.6, now I'm all confused with the settings since it's changed, and I have to reinstall some apps since it doesn't work anymore. Wifi connectivity hasn't changed, it remains the same but the battery life is better now

Just got buzzed about system update available for my Redmi 9T after I turned on the wifi this morning.
It says V12.5.6.0.RJQMIXM. About 2.6GB in size.
Just 4 days left until the warranty expires 😅. A recap: my phone never had the deadboot problems before. Never. It also survived the system update reboot 😂. No deadboot. I
also always reboot my phone twice a week just to "refresh" it.
I haven't tap the "download update" yet as I'm typing this thinking that my phone may not survive this one major update 😂. But let see... If I come back later today, then all is good. If not, welp, rest in peace 🤣

Bought this phone a few days ago, after updates it now has Android 11 and MIUI 12.5.
Good hardware and build, but on the software side, it is a real pain in the ass after a clean and simple Android One phone...
