Mr. Know It How, 28 Jan 2021ASUS Max M2 still at best released 2018 with Android 8.1 (O... moreYou're mistaken about a lot of things.
Redmi 9T isn't a a huge upgrade if you already have Asus Max M2 apart from performance, but it's way better than Max M2 in every way.
No new buyer should choose Asus Max M2 over Redmi 9T.
1. Snapdragon 662 is 35-45% more powerful than Snapdragon 632. The difference is huge. Refer to Nanoreview.
Normally 10% gap is enough to feel performance difference, while 20% is what you should aim for if you're looking to upgrade your performance. 35-45% is a lot.
2. Higher nm = worse chipset.
Snapdragon 632 having 14nm means it uses more battery and heats more than Snapdragon 662 (11nm) to do same amount of work.
3. eMMC 5.1 vs UFS 2.1 & 2.2 storage types.
Asus Zenfone Max M2 has eMMC 5.1, which has slower loading speed, longer boot time, slower copy paste speeds and limited actions (can't copy & paste at the same time).
This also makes minor difference in gaming, and battery timing.
Redmi 9T has UFS 2.1 & 2.2, which are 2-5 times faster than eMMC 5.1. It also allows copying and pasting at the same time.
4. 4000mAh vs 6000mAh battery.
The difference in battery capacity is big.
When you factor in chipset, and fasts storage, Redmi 9T gets a big advantage.
5. 720p display vs 1080p display.
Redmi 9T has 1080p display, which is good for a phone this price in this price.
720p is a little bad for a phone with 6.26inch sized phone. I know because I've a 720p 6.2inch phone too.
You must have noticed this too - it's just usable.
But you no longer need to make that compromise in new phones.
6. Sound quality: (not speakers)
Phones' ability to actually play high quality music is limited by their internal hardware & software components.
Redmi 9T supports 24bit/192kHz audio. This is very high quality, and probably best you can get even if you pay 200% more for a phone. Basically, flac music tracks are 16, 24, & 32 bits normally (only premium phones support 32bit).
Don't know what audio support Asus Zenfone Max M2 has.
7. Features
Redmi 9T has IR Blaster to control your TV, AC, and other appliances.
Asus Max M2 doesn't.
Redmi 9T allows screen mirroring in 1080p/FHD resolution (I'm only assuming, because Redmi 9 can).
Asus Max M2 was released in time when many phones in this price either didn't support screen mirroring, or only supported in 720p/HD resolution.
8. OS.
Redmi 9T comes with Android 10, and will likely get Android 11.
Asus Max M2 came with Android 8, and is upgradable to Android 9. Both of which have less features than Android 10, such as lack of internal sound recording.

Hm, 28 Jan 2021I want to make a choice between Redmi 9T and Redmi Note 9. ... moreAre these really your only options? I think you can buy better phones since Redmi Note 9 is in your range.
You should go for a phone with Snapdragon 732G, Snapdragon 720G, Helio G90T, Snapdragon 712, Snapdragon 710.
Suggestion:
Poco X3, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Realme 6 (or Redmi Note 8 Pro), Realme 5 Pro, Realme 3 Pro
I really don't recommend Redmi Note 9 due to optimisation problems, but it's better than Redmi 9T.

ASUS Max M2 still at best released 2018 with Android 8.1 (Oreo), upgradable to Android 9.0 (Pie)
Qualcomm SDM632 Snapdragon 632 (14 nm)
Octa-core (4x1.8 GHz Kryo 250 Gold & 4x1.8 GHz Kryo 250 Silver)
4K@30fps, 1080p@30fps
Li-Ion 4000 mAh, non-removable
Choose wisely. Qualcomm SDM632 Snapdragon 632 (14 nm) is way better than SnapDragon 662 at many areas. Battery at 4000 Li Ion Battery is stronger than that of Li Po 6000 mah.
Try Comparing that 2018 to 2021 , ASUS is way ahead of time. Dont be deceived by numbers, try researching.

O, 26 Jan 2021How long will last this phone? (Will it last >2 years?) ... moreYes & No.
Nowadays, quality of budget phones has improved. It's normal for phones to last 1.5+ years without issues. And possibly 2-3 years if you take care of them.
For example, use phone case, tempered glass, avoid water damage/falls, don't bend or press your phone.
The only thing to worry about is display/touch screen issues. Sometimes phones develop touch issue where they don't register your touch *sometimes*, ghost touch issue, screen spot issue, and rarely a completely black/dead display.
Other issues aren't serious. Mostly short term bugs that are fixed in updates, or less-serious issues like camera dust issue that are easily & cheaply fixed.
You can also flash custom ROMs to extend your phone's battery and performance, if you're looking to extend its life.
To ensure a phone is durable, you should read reviews to check if many people have the same issue & watch durability tests on YouTube (Gupta Information System channel). Pay attention to:
- Display
- Touch
- Bending test
- Water test
- Charging port
Last, make sure it's powerful enough to meet your performance expectations. Because games tend to become heavier with years, and so does MIUI (unless you flash custom ROM or never update software of your phone).
- RAM should always be 4GB or more. Unless you've to choose between a very weak chipset having more RAM VS a good chipset with less RAM.
- Chipset is most important for performance.
Snapdragon 662 of this phone is perfect for normal use atm, and meets the *minimum* requirement for heavy gaming.
You'll need GFX tool to get 40+FPS in PUBG on low graphics. 40FPS is smooth enough to play good and reach Ace (i did) and Conqueror too.
But if you're a gamer, remember that it'll be outdated in 1-1.5 years. I'm putting it very clearly. You'll find many phones in same or lower price having better chipsets in that time, and the games may also become heavier.
Here's how you can choose chipset (worse to best):
- Snapdragon 460
- Helio P60, Kirin 710, Snapdragon 660
- Snapdragon 662, Snapdragon 665
- Helio G70, Helio G80 (I recommend these chipsets for smooth gaming if you've low budget).
*Infinix Hot 10 with 6GB RAM is a excellent choice in my country. Tecno Pova & Realme 6i are other good options.*
- Snapdragon 710, Snapdragon 712 (I recommend these chipsets for good gaming experience. It's worth buying them even if you've to buy in used condition. But ensure that they aren't repaired or damaged).
*Realme 5 Pro & Realme 3 Pro are good choices on my country*
- Helio G90T, Snapdragon 720G, Snapdragon 730G, Snapdragon 732G, Dimensity 700 Series
- Kirin 810, Snapdragon 765G, Dimensity 800+ series
*Huawei Nova 7i is sometimes sold at very low price by people who can't cope with lack of Google Play Services. It's a very good phone if you're willing to learn to use it!*
- Snapdragon 800 series are in a completely different league than 700 series. They've a huge performance advantage.

O, 26 Jan 2021How long will last this phone? (Will it last >2 years?) ... moreIt will definitely last 2 years. If you want to see some battery tests search for Poco M3 battery tests because it's basically same smartphone with minor differences. "phone uses 10% of its battery while watching 1 hour video on Youtube(that's very much if it has 6000mAh)" that's because IPS display and Snapdragon 662 is 11 nm SoC which does not result in the best energy efficiency.

Also has anyone done a battery test? Is there any endurance rating given on this phone?
I want to buy this phone but found a video that shows that this phone uses 10% of its battery while watching 1 hour video on Youtube(that's very much if it has 6000mAh). Should've used like 5-6%.
