They said ½ GB of ram is enough to run a phone with Android GO. But you may not install any app larger than 20mb of size.

In my country Philipines we use secondary mobile or we called it backup phone because we use lots of sim cards and my country lots of thief so we dont display much of our main mobile phone..

There is plenty SD4XX series Xiaomi can used for this phone like SD427, SD429, SD430, SD435 but why must use SD425 why not use newer chipset like SD429 ? To me because Xiaomi already buy this chipset in bulks like they did with SD625. I bet not just SD425 been reused this year but also the SD625.

Probably people who are just starting to use smart phones, changing from a feature phone to a smart phone. It's not really for the regular people who work in offices and work in cities.
Hence the specs of 1gb ram and a skinned version of android.

They should've used sd 429 with 4.5 inch, 480 x 960 display. It would've been a killer combo

It's Android Go edition phone(search it) hence low specs.. In other words a ''disposable'' to use for some time or have as spare.
Worth to mention that it uses Android Go apps and System which uses lower memory, resources and ram than standard one.

My spare phone is 18:9, I don't really like it, it's too tall and hard to use even though I relatively have big hands!
At least I got used to it! :/

AhmedSLL, 30 Jan 2019Why would anyone buy this while for 90€ you can get the red... moreRedmi 6A has no LTE band 28. I will buy a Redmi Go because of that. And also as my secondary phone for call and text and light FB and Messenger. That's all.
Besides I have my Pocophone for heavy usage.
