Can anyone please tell if after software update the battery life is decreasing or same? I've had the phone for last 1 yr 2 months almost and thinking about whether to update the software or not. I'm mainly worried about battery life. Coz up to now it's fine. And whatever phones I've used so far, all have significantly decreased battery life after software update

I've had this phone for over 2 years now and it still runs so flawlessly guys. I plan on keeping this phone for another 3 years before upgrading. Easily a 5 year phone with the specs. What an incredible value.

After android update i also faced saome heavy lagging use issue(especially while playing COD mobile) and also in between switching between apps. Ram management was also disturbed after the update. So did a factory reset for the phone and now its running smooth as ever or may be even better and ram management is also better and phone is much faster and smoother

Lags do happen but not as often on the android 10 versions . Bugs are still around and will probably get patched . The developers have hence anknowledged most of the bugs and patching with the next update would be no problem . 8/10 ( Would recommend )

After Android 11 update, notification shade sucks, my battery life sucks. Everything about this mobile sucks. Why the hell did I update it? :'(

People seem to complain about the new android 11 (Miui 12.5.1) update, saying that is laggy. My opinion after updating it is that is a little bit laggy thats for sure, but there are no battery issues thats for sure. When Miui 12 came on K20 Pro it was laggy as well, but as time passed and new updates came it stable and the software was okay infact really good. The reason behind the lags are probably the major update (coming from android 10 to 11 and the Miui update was big as well), some time will pass until it become smooth again (probably until next little optimization updates), but it isnt such a big issues as everyone is talking about...

Anonymous, 10 Jun 2021Oh boy, Xiaomi. The company that only provides one Android ... moreunfortunately I would disagree with you saying it is "easy" to install roms.
The company provide the software but it is horrendous. It is a simple UI with just 3 buttons but so far I cant get it to work, even when following the step by step on xiaomi's own eu website. It gives constant error messages, but the errors are just strings of numbers with no explanation so there is no way to figure out what the problem is, plus it requires you to recieve a OTP every time you open the program but since it only sends 1 code for every 1,000 requests chances are you will not recieve a code. This is a problem 100% on the companies side but you, the consumer pay the price because when you dont recieve a code to log in you will be locked out of the program and you are not allowed to try again for a full 24 hours.
And the best part? even after you wait 24 full hours to be able to access your own account there is no guarantee you will receive the OTP so there is roughly a 98% chance that you will be stuck in a loop where every 24 hours you get 1 chance to log in and when xiaomi refuse to send you an OTP you will be locked for a further 24 hours.
I have had my phone for 8 days, 6 of those 8 days I have been locked out of myown account. I have literally been locked from accessing my own account for over 80% of the time that my account has existed.
Why did xiaomi even bother to create the "unlock tool"? they clearly dont want people to unlock their phones, it is the single worst piece of software i have ever had the displeasure of witnessing in my 40 years on this planet. To be blunt avoid this company. The hardware might be good for the money but the UI is the worst android interface on the planet, the company offers no support whatsoever, they ban you from your own account for pointlessly long periods of time. Yeah their phones might be cheaper than the likes of samsung, but at least with samsung you know you are getting what you pay for. With xiaomi you get the worst software, worst implementation of android, no customer support and it will cause you so much stress and frustration that it is better for your health to buy anything but this brand. I dont do anything particularly demanding with my phone, primarily it is used for whatsapp, but I do like customisation and have used nova launcher on past phones.
With that being said could you recommend me a rom to use please? Some freedom to customize and a stable performance are all that I need.
