Just read the Chinese announcement, I'm sold on the 4G variant with 6GB/128GB. It's overall a better phone in every way vs. the Redmi Note 8 Pro at just a slightly higher price. The 630G is slower than the Mediatek chip on the Note 8 Pro however, it should get full community support for custom roms/kernels and root. The higher price tag justifies the better Sony IMX686 sensor, bigger screen @ variable 120/90/60hz and 27W fast charging.

I actually love the fact that xiaomi used IPS instead of AMOLED, I find the colors on IPS more realistic and accurate and it doesn't have burn-in issues but I guess most people like the super bright and contrasty AMOLED displays, still an awesome phone for the price and definitely gonna be my next phone

As a huawei fan I like this design specially the fingerprint sensor doubled on the power button and the selfie cutout. This phone is a steal and I dont know why some people lament like idiots over amoled . You wont see a difference unless u are a superhuman with some sort of lazer eyes lol suckers

2 reasons not to buy it, first IPS LCD screen and second is non expandable memory.. will wait for Realme to launch mobile with SD 765G.

120hz is too much plus its an IPS, its unbalanced with 4500 battery. The impact on experience improve just very slightly (considered the chipset {not 800 series} wont take full advantage of that screen refresh rate) but it will significantly cost the battery

I don't want to be racist but most people complaining about AMOLED are likely from India. They want high end specs in a mid range budget phone and probably never owned a AMOLED panel long enough to see the issues with image retention. It's only been recently that mid range phones have been getting AMOLED panels and most of these cheapskates don't even know what they're talking about when comparing the advantages vs. disadvantages of AMOLED vs. IPS technology.
