Harry V, 12 Aug 2021Yes, but why decrease clock speed for a different architect... moreWdym decrease clock speed? The clock speed for both 888 and 870 are exactly the same. The only difference between the two are the CPUs - 870 uses Cortex-A77 whereas 888 uses both Cortex-X1 and Cortex-A78. Even the GPU is different as well.

They would see if there is any value in launching this phone globally, even under the Poco sub-brand. That said though, the idea of this phone launched globally as the Poco F3 Pro does sound enticing.

It has a much better camera performance and it will get a guaranteed three major OS updates. Plus, Snapdragon 865 is more heat-efficient than Snapdragon 888. Even the new OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro are plagued with overheating under prolonged use.

Anonymous, 17 Jul 2021Do you think Redmi K40 will still released globally?Redmi K40 did get released globally as the Poco F3. This will forever remain a China-specific model.

Harry V, 28 Apr 2021Why is the pro model slower than the original model. Bit fu... moreThe vanilla K40 was running on 7nm Snapdragon 870, which is the second evolution of the TSMC-fabricated Snapdragon 865 chipset. The K40 Pro and also the K40 Pro+ runs on an all-new Samsung-fabricated 5nm Snapdragon 888 chipset.

So to recap about the Redmi K40 family:
- Redmi K40 = Global Poco F3 = India Mi 11X
- Redmi K40 Pro+ = Europe Mi 11i = India Mi 11X Pro
- Redmi K40 Pro = ...nothing. Seriously, there really isn't any Global or European or even Indian counterpart of this particular model. Makes me wonder why Xiaomi never have the intention to release this particular smartphone outside China. This is much cheaper than the Redmi K40 Pro+ in the first place.

Technard , 13 May 2021If i compare it to one plus 8 pro in terms of normal use an... moreI'd take the OnePlus. Xiaomi phones running SD 888 chipset tend to overheat a lot under prolonged usage. In fact, even the latest OnePlus 9 Pro overheats when using the camera. Since SD 865 still has a more stable thermal management than SD 888, I'd go for the OnePlus 8 Pro.
