While you may be thinking about a more expensive phone, perhaps the MI3 or MI4 - believe me, the RedMi Note is all the phone you'll ever need.
I own three of these (2x MTK 1.7GHz ver. and 1x LTE ver.) Consider this: No matter what phone you purchase, chances are it will either be obsolete, broken, stolen or lost within the next two years. The RedMi Note has taught me that it's just not worth spending more than $180-$200 on a phone (unless you're rich). Especially since we're a middle class family of five with many other expenses.
Recommended phone settings/configuration: For maximum battery life, set 'CPU power saving mode' to ON. For a Galaxy Note 4 look and feel I use an app called 'S Launcher' and downloaded Note 4 wallpaper HD photos from XDA. All I can say is, WOW! I also added a $10 Nillkin 9H screen protector and a $7 silver color aluminum bumper which give the phone a nice premium feel. For my wife and daughter, the 5.5" form factor was just too large. They use the Moto G instead - another great phone for the price.

Anonymous, 27 Nov 2014xiaomi battery available in mi store indiathere is no mi store in India and only 30 service centers in all over india... for now service of xiaomi is pathetic than local phone companies, xiaomi is selling all their stuff thru online shopping site flipkart dot com... you can check no batteries available there... i contacted with xiaomi india for the same but no response... if people thinks they will get solution from service centers then this is wrong... xiaomi will discontinue the device and will say no parts available.. if xiaomi or flipkart will confirm for spare batteries availability of redmi note then i will buy sure

BEWARE... redmi note supports only original MI batteries & in India xiaomi batteries not available for sale till now, so after battery life ended ur phone life too... all u knows that xiaomi discontinues their devices after sale... so if u wanna buy a mobile for 6 month or 1 year then go for it otherwise think before buying

seriously are these guys crazy or what... it has a 2gb ram and a 1.7gh octa core processor with a 3200mah battery.!!! OMG! and its just 8999 in flipkart(coming soon). forget about OS as its 4.2 only it will soon get miui6(perfect custom skin). seriously mindblowing phone. HAts of to the price and specs. anyone have 10k in your pocket just freaking book this mobile.dont even go for a samsung grand or anything!
