For almost 3 years and 9 months, this phone is a beautiful machine used by my wife.
The best mid-range phone over the last few years.
Just for the heck of change may consider Redmi note 14 pro.

This is a decent phone, I have had this phone for 4 years now, and I am not a fan of it. The phone itself has great specifications for its time and that for its price, you cannot complain too much. The only gripe that I have with this phone is the fact that it has built-in ads and what I mean by that is whenever you open any Xiaomi app such as the Video Gallery, and any Xioami official app, you will be greeted with an ad. I would not recommend getting this phone nowadays, especially since there are better phones now in the market.

phoneidiot, 19 Nov 2024Honestly, had this phone for 2 years no problem with a chip... moreif it works fine and all is well, why not just continue using it without HyperOS? it still is my mainly driver with stock ROM and MIUI 14.0.8.0 and everything i need works perfect. OK Xiaomi unfortunately makes no more updates BUT GooglePlayServices will still get updated and also GooglePlaySystemUpdates, both quite a vital part of critical things. Thankfully nowadays Android is modular in a way enough so that Google can maintain important things even if the OEM gives up the device.
As stated in my other posts, on a spare phone i right now tested PixelOS which really works fine. And with Magisk + the PlayIntegrityFix also Google Pay works for now, most other bank-apps warn that the phone is rooted but work. Yet this is the reason unfortunately why i won't use it as dayly driver, just in case anything goes wrong.
So my main phone is still with original software and i do belive that one can simply happily go on using it. Just stuck a 512 GB SD-card into it and tested it once with SD-Card-Test, everything ok. Still like the hardware and overall battery perfomance and quick response e.g. fast change between 3G/4G in bad environment.
and maybe if many peole still use it, Xiaomy might make an update one day :)

Honestly, had this phone for 2 years no problem with a chip that can only score roughly 400,000 you think, it would be bad for games but it is not as it can run fortnite on high settings and get 30 fps for a decent amount of time until it starts to overheats and then lags. My only gripe with this phone is the 2 years of updates I was really hoping for this phone to be able to download hyperos but it sadly cannot. For this time this phone was really good but no were days that's better prices if you get it used

rolandschweiger, 16 Nov 2024lock bootloader again after flashing PixelOS? ok right now... moreso because in xda forum etc. so many people warn about (re)locking the bootloader after flashing pixelOS, i fipped the switch back ON and a message popped up "this will disable phone protection", rebooted, everything normal. Hope it did not break anything and won't let me flash a later version or something?

rolandschweiger, 15 Nov 2024Finally was able to flash the latest PixelOS (from October ... morelock bootloader again after flashing PixelOS?
ok right now i am confused. i went into developer options of the newly flashed PixelOS (the one from October 26, 2024) and locked the bootloader again ... or rather flipped the switch to OFF where it says (in German) "OEM-Entsperrung" which literally translates to original equipment manufacturer - unlocking and so i suppose this means "lock the bootloader" - after i did that, i got a message saying something like "device protection is now enabled" and i rebooted and everything appears fine.
But i read in so many places on the internet that (re)locking the bootloader again would brick the phone or break everything? Well it did not on my phone and i still hope banking apps and google wallet will work .... could not test this yet as i would have to pull the sim from my daily driver which is another RN10Pro with MIUI14.
I am strongly thinking about factory resetting the new pixelOS, putting my main sim card and sd into it and start everything from scratch - as i like some features of PixelOS e.g. the battery charger limiter.
Everything related to Xiaomi hardware seems to work
compass sensors, there is even an EM Radio, all camera sensors work, and Dolby Atmos too.
still a bit sceptical though. Google Play Store is not certified but all apps seem to install normally

Finally was able to flash the latest PixelOS (from October 26th 2024) onto my (spare) RN10Pro (256 GB Variant). As a came from stock ROM and MIUI 14.0.8.0 i had to go the "long way" described on the PixelOS page, so after having unlocked the boot-loader, first flashing the recovery, then going into boot-recovery and entering "apply updates" to allow the sideloading via ADB, then sideloading the latest MIUI which now was MIUI 14.0.9.0 and finally sideloading the ROM, then wipe everything, then reboot.
At 1st glance everything is WOW. as i am visually handicaped i am slow in testing and as on all OS, choosing larger fonts + screen enlargement can lead to problems, overlapping lines etc. So i am not fully done with testing yet. All camera lenses seem to work, everything got detected correctly, and as i saw i can lock the boot loader again in developer-options so i hope banking apps will work?
will now get a large SD card and if everything goes well i will make this my daily driver.
Can anyone confirm if banking apps work?
Does PixelOS get OTA updates or will i have to flash every new version?? On the pixelOS page they say that if you come from an earlier pixelOS version, you can make a "quick and dirty" flash without having to wipe data.
Anyhow so far great and even the battery can now be confined to charge only to 80% which i find useful for the time i only use it at home anyway.
The people who portet pixelOS seem to have done a great job and if i understand correctly, things like the camera app come from Xiaomi MIUI which is probably why one has to sideload the MIUI.
will keep everyone informed.
greetings

The Legend, 02 Nov 2024The best phone I've ever had... I just flashed PixelOS... moreas i have a spare RN10Pro (with 256GB, Global TKFMIXM version) i am now desperate to try out PixelOS but must wait for 166 hours;-) as Xiaomi will only let me unlock the BootLoader after waiting for that long (i probably took too long to solve the capcha or typed the MI account pw wrong too often or something) but i already downloaded all the files and ADB + FASTBOOT is working on my PC. so i'll go ahead next weak.
Can you confirm?
When finally PixelOS is set up, can one "lock" the boot loader again and turn off OEM unlock in developer options?
This would make it mor likely for banking apps and credit card apps to work?
Or ... did you test any banking apps?
Are all the camera lenses working and everything else from the hardware?
if this all goes well i will finally flash and reinstall my main phone.
As overall i still like the hardware of the device, it can suit me mor many more years to come. Even the cameras are better than they tell us. i am visually handicaped and this is one of the few phones where the macro camera really works. And the main camera does a good job in video quality and especially stabilisation (i know it is software EIS but it works); connectivity with VoLTE and fast switching between 3G/4G always worked well in the areas where i move around. Battery also good, so i am willing to keep this device.
what i really hope with pixelOS is that the little problem with GoogleMaps and the direction compass might be solved, i am quite dependant on such a feature as i often require it as pedestian and with the handicap this helps me alot, but unfortunately there still is some issue with GMaps not properly being able to access the compass sensors...

Difficult at first glance to find a proper download page and instructions and there seem to be some differences within the community (some kind of toxic argument?) then there is also a 4.7 version but that's aparantly paied or something? but i'll give it a try one day, as i have a spare phone hanging around so it would not do much harm

Hello, i want to switch from Xiaomi note 10 pro to Xiaomi note 13 pro 5G or maybe the + Version, and i wanna ask If someone recently switched from note 10 pro to 13 pro 5G.Is the switch worth it,cuz i hear a lot of problems about the 13pro 5g because of the shitty HyperOS, does the 13 pro 5G getting hot when playing Games, and does it feel the Battery drain faster than the 10 pro? I think the most balanced phone out of the note series is note 10 pro,i haven't had Any bugs with this phone in these 2 years of using, maybe one small problem is that is kinda getting warm to hot when playing big games.
