I bought this in Malaysia website, a week ago in 2021 April, the phone arrive looks good. But the screen turn black when play whatapp voice message is driving me crazy. Now I learn that this is about the faulty proximity sensor, and I cant find a way to disable it ... making me real mad !!!

the phone have flickering issue if you switch to 120hrts....auto brightness on.........or darkmode.........but wait for OTA update

Redmi has IR blaster which is a requirement for me, so Samsungs are handicapped from the start on that issue.
Also Redmi has dedicated SD Card slot which I prefer because I travel internationally (pre Wuhan outbreak) and plan to semi-relocate to another country next year and return to US only for 5 mos/yr.
I also prefer the larger battery in redmi.
Both have 3.5mm jack, so that's good.
When it comes to camera, Samsung has their cam hdwe and sfwe in the sweet spot. I know there will always be a xiaomi/samsung tradeoff between price and quality. I have occasionally envied others pictures vs. my current redmi 5 cam. But I seldom lost any sleep over it. The xiaomi cam is still adequate for my amateur use and probably somewhat improved from my redmi 5.
Another tradeoff, I usually expect to make vs. Samsung, is with the display. But redmi 10 pro seems to have gone a long way toward solving that discrepancy!
My friend just bought an A52 this week and I actually was not that impressed vs my old redmi 5. That was a surprise.
I always prefer largest battery.
Of course, larger battery takes longer to charge, but I sleep at least 7hrs so won't really notice.
The issue of long term support is not a concern for me. I usually upgrade after 4-5 yrs and I disable updates right away. I'm just not a fan of re-learning how my phone and apps work, when one day, it's suddenly different.
Also, like with Tunein App, they deleted recording option in an update which is what I paid for!! But my old vers of the app still records. Newer is not always better 😏
I do prefer volume and power switch on opposite sides. But it appears to be a design issue that works better for the manufacturer putting them all on the same side.
Only other big issue is reliability. My on/off switch in redmi 5 has had a short-circuit for over a year. I'm dealing with it by pressing button very very hard. But I suspect with a Samsung that would not have even occurred.
Overall though, for my budget and needs, if Redmi 10 pro works as advertised, it's a much better choice for me (and my budget too.) and I'm willing to give it a try.

This is changing now, but they certainly are behind. This phone for example is not any cheaper than the oppo Reno.
