MIUI 14/Android 13 has definitely given a breath of fresh air to this device. After a few weeks using it, undoubtedly snappier performance, battery life is great, better RAM management, haven't noticed any serious bug or anything. Miles better than MIUI 13 for me. I was thinking in upgrading soon to another device but I might just hold onto it for a while.
Split screen does work perfectly. Sadly for all of you experiencing bugs I think you'll have to do a factory reset, specially after such a big update. But it is worth it, basically I fell in love with my phone again. MIUI 13 was such a let down.

Good Phone Used for one and half year and now there is no sound from the device. No Front Camera!

Azrael , 29 Mar 2023Had the same problem when I updated my redmi 8 from MIUI 11... moreSame also on redmi note 7 from 12 to 12.5, like they stripped down some options & features, like control centre grayed out bg instead of blur, no option when tap & hold apps on recent etc.. When miui 12 was out it was so buggy heavy & slow, so it is understandable what they did on 12.5, but still a shitty rom update that focus purposely on flagship xiaomi phones.

There's no option anymore for split screens in MIUI 14. When I tao and hold an open app, nothing shows up.

Yes ram has increased but its much better since its actually utilizing it more rather than caching it to the slower internal storage.

If there is enough ram (which means 8 GB obviously is) then it actually is a sign of good ram management if the ram is well filled! There is no need to clear ram all the time, kill apps, dump caches if there is enough ram. Better tu use RAM than to read and write and read and write and read and write to the (finally aging) flash memory all the time and all the time and all the time ..... there absolutely is no problem at all im ram is well filled.

Real User, 27 Mar 2023I am coming back here to see so much complaints about batte... more* mine is running on 8GB RAM, 128 ROM, smoothly running like feather touch. best battery endurance was 72 hours plus.. honestly speaking this phone has great hardware, display, beautiful 0.6x FHD video cam, great crispy stereo loudspeakers .. the only drawback it has no 5G

I am coming back here to see so much complaints about battery life, ram & performance dropped massively after greater version updates.. just to tell my phone still running on MIUI 12.0.1 original factory released back in April 2021.. simple i can get up to 47-52 hours per charge, and somtimes less browsing, can hold up to 60 hours.. see how Xiaomi engineers tricked all of you but 'attractive' MIUI ver.updates just to kill you phone slow n steady.. please keep my words for phone youngsters ..this how the called MARKETING STRATEGY for new phones release

I think it's cos of the sensors on the top of the screen,
1. Either you have an inappropriate screen protector or pouch that's covering the sensors up there
2. You are manually covering the top of the phone leading to the activation of the On ear sensors

Anonymous, 22 Mar 2023I don't think it's a software bug as I or my brot... moreI reached out to the store I bought the phone for, and I was told some other customers complained about the same issue and they took the phone to Xiaomi Care center where their engineers ran a diagnostic test on it and loaded a new software and they haven't had the same issues since then.
I'm thinking of doing that whenever I'm back to the City

Hi. My phone screen turns black when im listening to telegram audio messages, it doesnt happen every time, but maybe 1 out of 5 times. I have to wait like 10 seconds, and it goes back to normal. Miui version 12.5 global. Do you think an update would solve this issue?

The phone hasn't fallen in water,
It had fell down quite a number of times but with no external hardware Damage, cos I'm using a screen protector and a pouch.
However, I get your point that something might be damaged internally, tho I pray that's not the case 🙏🏾
