Listen gents... The phone is awesome. Mine heats up when I got it, but now it's all cool, abstain from updating miui manually. Update only when the message was sent to you. I'm currently in miui 13.0.8 when it was in 6 and 7 it heats up. But now with this 8, the phone is working properly. Exercise patients and update your phone when you receive the info to update. Update the apps on your phone, avoid a third party installation of apps and download directly from the playstore. You will have no worries

The more reason I suggest to go back to stock firmware & have less problems specially when getting OTA updates.

Mi Global on the otherhand provides pure stock firmware without having any difficult process. Just read the guides there with no need to unlock bootloader & flash twrp.
