VNuff, 07 Jan 2023I love the jack but SD cards had to go.i could live without it. if it comes with 256gb as base, 512gb and 1tb in future midrangers. not 256gb max. but they shouldnt touch the audio jack since it is useful for microphone as well.

At least looks a lot better than Samsung A14. which is 5G.
But slow exynos and weakest of a 5G device wouldnt cut it.

Bluewave, 07 Jan 2023No Sdcard must stay for budget phones Google Drive expanded to a whole Terabyte for free, why would you need an SD Card?
Why would you need a fragile low-storage chip to store what is essentially irreplaceable data?
If your phone's stolen you can lock it with Google Drive, but the SD Card means that not only do you have no access to your info, but it means risking it being potentially out there.
They had to go.

patxtra, 07 Jan 2023would the 4 gen 1 be any major improvement from the 480+?Yes, it scores 621/1871 in Geekbench while the 480 scores 517/1672 a 20% improvement in single core performance and a smaller jump of 11% in multicore

very good chip, great display, the usual Xiaomi cameras, good battery and good charging and is a noticeable jump up from last gen, and still is for the same price???
seems like Xiaomi is back to business with this year's Redmi Notes.
I also like the silent addition of 5G in a budget phone no less, something that a certain sammy can't shut up about even in their highest-end offering.

This is a "gotcha" moment for those who were complaining about no SD slot for the Redmi Note 12, it happened in the past with Redmi Note 11 (first the china variant did not have SD slot then the global variant included it) so why would it be different this time? Better processor, more refresh rate, 5G, this phone is a step up from vanilla Redmi Note 11 for the same price. I wonder what people will complain about now... nevermind I already saw the 4k people lmao, there's no perfect phone for these people I swear.
