Because if you do, you will know that it lagged.
My advice will be if you never updated it yet, don't you ever think of doing it because you will hate the phone.

This phone i have been using for a month and for me its great. The price and the spec is superb. Its not a pro gaming phone but it gets the job done. Photos are perfect comparing with same range phones. No lags up to now except for 1 or 2 app crashes but happened only once and thats it. I would rate this phone a 9 out if 10. Would have given a solid 10 if they had dual speakers. Still its the best.

Can I Play ML on smooth Graphics.. Using Wifi if it's good on low setting then it's enough for me I use a 60hz with low processor I think its Helio p35 proc. phone on ML using WiFi and only experience some frame drops no ping issues.. hope it's better than that or should I be content to unisoc T606 that's cheap on the market nowadays... Not a hard gamer of ml

awesome phone for its low price. AMOLED 120Hz, splash resistant, micro-sd, audio jack, 5000mah battery, latest Android. Mind that... IT'S NOT a gaming or ultra-cameraphone. Come on guys, it's a sub 200euros device. People who complain for gaming performances should visit a good doctor

But in cod you get very high graphics and medium fps until you switch it to low before you get high frame rates option.
I don't know if they'd release a software update to fix the optimization or that's just what you'd have to stick to

No heating issues, exepct during charging a bit warmer is the back side, but I keep my phone constantly always in tpu case.

I have this phone since June. I have the 4 gb ram and 128 gb storage cheapest version. Still no issues. Of course I set the RAM extension for additional 4 gb ram, so I have 8 gb total Ram. Everything works so far fine. For me enough. By the way: I never play games on phone. Everyday usage mostly. I recommend this phone super cheap but decent power and performance.

I got the 8g/256g version of this pohne, it was a special varient of the phone in my country. I'm using it for about a month now.
First of all please compare smartphones within the same price range, and if it is the best option for the money, compare the phone with more expensive ones.
This phone is solid, it has the best screen for the budget, a decent cpu and gpu combo, good enough sounding speaker. If you get the 6 or 8 gig RAM version of this phone I'm sure you won't get stutters a lot when you are using aplications and games. The redmi note 12 is not a gaming champion by any means, and if you play more demanding games, low settings are your best friend for high fps.
The only down side about this phone is it's camera in lowlight situations. In my opinion, HDR is a MUST if you want good enough photos in low light.
If you need a new cheap and reliable phone, and you don't take a lot of photos, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 4g with 6 or 8 gigs of RAM is surly the best phone under 200$

But do that by connecting the phone with external WiFi or hotspot device.
And anytime your phone request for an security update do that without doubt because is for security protection to your phone from the phone software developers.

This is low Budget phone do not forget. For the ridiculously low price I bought it 2 month ago, it is nice for me. Do not expect high end abilities. In outdoor conditions very good, in low Light or night not too impressive as said before. For me average user good compromise.
