awesome phone for its low price. AMOLED 120Hz, splash resistant, micro-sd, audio jack, 5000mah battery, latest Android. Mind that... IT'S NOT a gaming or ultra-cameraphone. Come on guys, it's a sub 200euros device. People who complain for gaming performances should visit a good doctor

But in cod you get very high graphics and medium fps until you switch it to low before you get high frame rates option.
I don't know if they'd release a software update to fix the optimization or that's just what you'd have to stick to

No heating issues, exepct during charging a bit warmer is the back side, but I keep my phone constantly always in tpu case.

I have this phone since June. I have the 4 gb ram and 128 gb storage cheapest version. Still no issues. Of course I set the RAM extension for additional 4 gb ram, so I have 8 gb total Ram. Everything works so far fine. For me enough. By the way: I never play games on phone. Everyday usage mostly. I recommend this phone super cheap but decent power and performance.

I got the 8g/256g version of this pohne, it was a special varient of the phone in my country. I'm using it for about a month now.
First of all please compare smartphones within the same price range, and if it is the best option for the money, compare the phone with more expensive ones.
This phone is solid, it has the best screen for the budget, a decent cpu and gpu combo, good enough sounding speaker. If you get the 6 or 8 gig RAM version of this phone I'm sure you won't get stutters a lot when you are using aplications and games. The redmi note 12 is not a gaming champion by any means, and if you play more demanding games, low settings are your best friend for high fps.
The only down side about this phone is it's camera in lowlight situations. In my opinion, HDR is a MUST if you want good enough photos in low light.
If you need a new cheap and reliable phone, and you don't take a lot of photos, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 4g with 6 or 8 gigs of RAM is surly the best phone under 200$

But do that by connecting the phone with external WiFi or hotspot device.
And anytime your phone request for an security update do that without doubt because is for security protection to your phone from the phone software developers.

This is low Budget phone do not forget. For the ridiculously low price I bought it 2 month ago, it is nice for me. Do not expect high end abilities. In outdoor conditions very good, in low Light or night not too impressive as said before. For me average user good compromise.

If ultrawide sucks a lot in comparison to iphone cameras or my Sony RX100 (colors and light sensitivity), than it's better to get some wide angle attachment for the camera instead..

If anyone has a problem with the camera quality and how the photos turn out, try using the Google Camera app (not available in Play Store, you'd need to check a YT tutorial to download the specific build and configuration). The details may feel low when zooming the photo since it uses the 12MP front sensor not the third party app restricted 50MP one and it may take a second or two to process the photo when taking but the colours look great and low light photos turn out even better. Especially selfies look greater than before.
